Max saved the day! I was missing hardware for my paddleboard. I went to three other surf shops and they weren't open or were not able to help me. I walked in and told Max what I needed, he said no problem and got me the proper hardware!

Got a great price on two foam top surfboards. Very informative staff helped me get everything we need for a solid beginner setup. Kate provided great service and even set up the fins and leashes on the boards! Awesome shop.

I scheduled surf lessons here last year and the instructor didn't show. That being said I was impressed that there were no issues in recieving a refund at the counter. The kid who helped me was very knowledgeable and apologetic. It's a great small shop.

Don't let the size of the shop fool you, this is the best surf shop on Long Beach Island. Nothing against the other stores but Wave Hog has my son and me as customers for life.The customer service provided by Max and the other staff is great and that's what counts. They are willing to do what's best for the customer.Please make sure to check them out if you haven't already. A great store for the seasoned professional, beginners or anywhere in between.

I took a surf lesson with Max and it was awesome! This was my first time trying surfing and Max gave great instruction and feedback. The rest of the crew at the shop were also very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend checking out this shop when in town!

I took a surf lesson here with Max. It was my first time surfing and he was an awesome teacher. We had a blast & I can’t wait to get back in water! The store had really cool apparel too, I picked up a T shirt after the lesson. I would definitely recommend??

My friend and I took a semi private lesson with Glenn. He was very clear, calm, and attentive, and gave good feedback and good tips. He and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. My friend and I rented one board and two wetsuits and the staff gave us helpful information on how to determine if the surf conditions were good for beginners such as ourselves. Very highly recommend this place!

There's a great reason why I drove past multiple surf shops from Maine to get to Wave Hog. The service Max and crew deliver is outstanding, making the whole experience excellent. Eager to listen and blend awesome advice based on their own surf experience is what helped me narrow down and hone in on the exact board I was looking for. I've owned many boards and have gone through a variety of shops. The type of place Max runs is a lost art not only because of the exceptional customer service but a real appreciation of the history of surf. Highly recommended!!

My friend and I had our surf lesson with Max and it was amazing! He made our experience all the more memorable because of his humor and charisma. Not only did we enjoy our time with Max as our instructor, we also found that his professionalism helped us stay focused and calm despite tough waves. We completely recommend!

My teenage kids who have never surfed before loved the experience and were able to get up in the hour private lesson. Aiden was awesome. Would highly recommend and will go back if we are in the area!

Epic first waves for my kids. Max is a pro. He brought the kids out and got them (ages 14 & 10) up and moving in spite of a little extra chop on the surface. If we were here longer, I’d book another session to build on all they learned! All gear provided by WAVEHOG.Totally recommend! ??

My friends and I had a wonderful experience with Max at the Wave Hog! He was very accommodating in rescheduling our beginner lesson and made sure the conditions were fitting for our level. He really took the time to make sure we understood what we were doing from the start. Definitely stop by and sign up for a lesson if you’re in the area!!

Awesome place. Max was super helpful, knowledgeable and helped me create a custom board that was right for my size and skill. He really cares about what is best for you. It turned out awesome and will be a customer for life now.
