I've been to every Aveda Salon in Monmouth County, and Thompson’s Aveda Salon in Shrewsbury is the only one that has impressed me on two fronts: they applied my color correctly and provided a proper blowout that was included in the service. Maria did an amazing job listening to my needs and executed the color and style exactly as I like. Thank you, Maria! I will definitely be coming back next month!

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored by Maria for a few years now and I’m always so happy with the way it turns out!! She does an amazing job and the AVEDA products always feel great and never dry out my hair even when I get my color changed. I know very little about getting hair dyed and Maria helped me figure out what I wanted and how to do it with my limited knowledge - highly recommend!

Unequivocally recommend Mary Kate at this sweet salon tucked away near The Grove in Shrewsbury. Needed emergency hair and makeup help before a holiday fundraising event. The salon made a last minute accomodation in their schedule and Mary Kate did an amazing job!

Robin runs an amazing business. I go here for weddings, hair trims, high lights, and makeup. Everyone who works for Thompson's is highly experienced and knows what they are doing. Friendly staff... AND not only do I walk away looking beautiful but confident and happy :)

I went in using a groupon offer for a partial highlight which i purchased for $86.50. After meeting with the stylist she recommended just to do a color process no highlights. Groupon sells color process for $55.00. I was told this would go towards my hair cut and color. I was pleased with the color and cut. when leaving I was told I owed an additional $80.00 for the cut. When I told her what I paid for the groupon I was told that it was not their problem that I only got a color and no highlights. The $80 was for the cut. So for a cut and color at this salon is $160.00. Using my Groupon first time customer it cost me $186.50. Terrible customer service. I will not be returning.

I have been to other AVEDA salons and have been going here since I liked the products. But this place is definitely not up to par. The "spa" feels more like it should house a hardware store. It has uncomfortable chairs and decor is dated, dirty and downright weird (what do they do with the pool table in the middle of the salon I wonder...). I have gone here a few times because there are no other AVEDA salons in the area. I have had the same processes several times and have been charged completely different prices every time. Also my hair is getting more and more damaged....not happy with this place or AVEDA products anymore. Will not be going back.

Kayla did an amazing job on my mani/pedi. Came in cause I bought a Groupon and will DEFINITELY be back. Special thanks to Mary Kate also who called me back when there was a mix up with my appointment time and they had a cancellation. The whole experience was over and above in terms of customer service.

Kaila is BEYOND amazing! She brought me back to my natural ash blonde from a super dark brown. She was patient and did it all while being careful not to damage my hair. AND SHE SUCCEEDED! I'll be coming back to her every time I need anything done with my hair �
