Colonial Park Gardens is a beautiful and well-maintained park located in the historic Millstone River Valley. It features an award-winning rose garden, a 45-acre nationally accredited arboretum, and a perennial garden, offering a variety of scenic spots. The gardens are open every day from sunrise to sunset, with free admission, though the rose garden has limited hours and does not allow pets or picnicking. Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks on the paths, sit on benches to relax, and take photos of the colorful roses, including the notable Tiffany roses. The grounds also include a sensory herb garden and nearby gardens like Perennial, both perfect for strolling. The park offers ample parking, restrooms, and activities such as mini golf and a summer spray ground for kids, making it a great place for families or solo visits. Overall, Colonial Park Gardens is a well-kept, inviting space ideal for enjoying nature and outdoor activities.

The profusion of roses is the usual draw, but I prefer the sensory herb garden. The grounds nearby are also great for a stroll. The gardens are often busy on holidays, so I recommend coming on off-peak days. Entrance is free.
