The staff here always have such a bad attitude

I see all the negative reviews, but I have to say I had an outstanding experience (btw - why in many of the negative reviews do people feel a need to call out someone by race? No one wrote the “white” girl or guy. It’s always black or dark-skinned. I’m Caucasian & I find this to be disturbing.) First - someone actually answered the phone! I was so grateful for that. I live in FL now & you will not find 1 area Post Office that will answer the phone. The phone just rings & rings until it cuts you off… over & over again. You have no choice but to call the Federal number & good luck with getting to the Post Office you need to speak with. Second - with that said, I had the great pleasure of speaking to Melinda. She is an outstanding representative of great customer service. Yes, in the USPS. She was helpful, kind, professional, efficient & understood exactly what my request was about. Yes, some of the negative reviews state that the USPS worker is on the phone - guess what? That employee is doing their job, not flitting around on a personal call. There are customers who do call in for assistance & these employees must address the concern, question, or request. Thank you for answering the phone, Melinda. I am grateful for your help & for correcting the mailing error I made all the way from FL to NJ. Excellent customer service and I wish I had somewhere to commend her on the USPS site. She deserves to be recognized for helping a customer to the extent that she did, in a timely & professional manner. btw - rude, disinterested, tone, not being helpful are subjective complaints. Sometimes an employee is doing the job within the constraints of Postal guidelines and they cannot deviate from that, no matter how many times you ask.

Was an easy experience, as it should be at a post office..Went in, purchased roll of stamps and left. In and Out. I call that a win.

Today I had an appointment to get my children's American passports. I arrived 30 hours early and was treated very poorly by dark-skinned women who didn't want to work because they were on the phone talking and neglecting their work. I suppose they have to attend to me. Because of an application error, they didn't want to continue keeping my appointment, let alone give me another application so I could do everything. Today, they treated me extremely poorly in front of my minor children. This is not appropriate for these two people who are working today, 3/11/25 at 3 PM. They were so unpleasant. They shouldn't have been there for customer service, but a supervisor should be there. After this, they told me to go to the place on Grove St. where I heard terrible comments about them. Likewise, what's happening with customer service at the USPS in Somerville is horrible. God bless those women.

The people so rude. A black girl doesn’t want to talk with Spanish people and use the phone all time you are talking to her.

The USPS staff in Somerville is the worst, very rude, on Monday January 30th 2025 at around 9:15 am I went to purchase a $15 money order and she understood $50, to which I told her it was $15 dollars miss, she got upset and told me that I was just taking up her time that she had more important things to do, than dealing with a Latino who doesn't speak English properly, that it would be better for me to return to my country, and many other things about racial profiling, and proceeded to tell me to get out of the facility and that she had no desire to help me, I asked her name to file a complaint to which she replied my name is sunshine but I doubt you can pronounce it because of your terrible English and repeated once again get out of here.

This is probably the quickest moving USPS compared to Bridgewater. The guys here seem to know what they are doing, Bebe TY Charmaine and Antonio are usually super friendly and knowledgeable about the products and services. I’m surprise so many people have negative experiences I haven’t experienced any issues coming here which leads me to believe the people with negative experiences must be the one who are the problem makers! Like another reviewer said if you don’t like coming here then go elsewhere Bridgewater and raritan are the closest post office.

Based on this information from a company I ordered from, I don’t think you should trust usps with your holiday shipping. “After investigating, we confirmed that USPS left a batch of orders, including yours, unscanned and not picked up at a sorting center. ”

Incredibly rude and hostile employees at the post office today, on November 14. I asked to send a letter certified and overnighted (I probably am not using correct terms because I don’t do this often) and I immediately got attitude from the lady. She told me to go to the desk to get a form but didn’t tell me which table (there were three of them) - I was obviously struggling to figure out what to do and the employees were sitting at desk on their phones and socializing. I came over with the incorrect form and I again, received attitude. I said “I don’t do this often and I need help.” And once again received attitude. I decided to leave and go to Raritan office- MUCH better service over there. The employees at this branch need serious customer service training.

I recently visited the USPS location in Somerville, and had an unpleasant experience with one of the employees, Bebe. While assisting me, she was on her phone, watching something very loudly. Even though she was technically doing her job, she was clearly distracted, frequently looking down at her phone instead of focusing on our interaction.
When she tried to explain the pricing to me, it didn’t make much sense, likely because her attention was divided. Instead of taking the time to clarify, she simply brushed me off with a "Yeah, this is it," which was both confusing and frustrating. Additionally, when she handed me a note to fill out, she abruptly told me to "step aside" rather than politely asking me to fill it out on the other side of the table. This lack of courtesy was disappointing.
This kind of behavior is unprofessional and not how customers should be treated, especially when we rely on postal services for important matters. I hope that management takes steps to ensure that all employees, including Bebe, are fully present and attentive when serving customers.

TY should be fired immediately. His behavior threatened to reject application because he owns this place.
@USPS this employee must go or you will be loosing business if not more
