I’m a contractor. I’ve spent a lot of money at HomeDepot over the years. Over the past 10 months, I’ve had nothing but awful customer service experiences here. I’ve received several incorrect items through online orders, been sent by customer service to the store for a return, then been turned away by the store. Leaving thousands of dollars in limbo. They’ve tied up my money and wasted many hours of my time. I’ll be shopping exclusively at local building suppliers and Lowe’s from now on. I recommend shopping elsewhere. Volume discounts are considerably better at Lowe’s anyway and local building supplier quality is always better and their selection usually broader.

An agreement signed and effectively nothing more we can do.
Thank you for following up regarding your review posted three days ago. Based on your installation order (H6917-280815), your concerns were escalated to our Home Services team, and case number 38733050 was created. You expressed issues with your installation, and a Settlement and Release Agreement was provided, which you signed and returned. On July 7, 2025, you confirmed via email that you received the compensation check. Although this wasn't the outcome any of us expected, your feedback has been documented and will be used to help improve the customer experience. -Ivana

This is a factual account of our kitchen remodel experience with Home Depot (Monmouth Junction, NJ) using KraftMaid cabinets.
We spent tens of thousands of dollars on cabinets, expecting high service quality. That expectation was not met. Below are the issues we faced, along with the resolutions—which we often had to manage ourselves:
Tall Oven Cabinet – Cracked panel, gaps, chips.
→ Replacement ordered via KraftMaid; delayed project by 2 weeks.
Five Drawers – All bowed, visibly misaligned.
→ Replacements ordered, same as above.
Trash Can Drawer Door – Bowed; top edge didn’t meet cabinet.
→ Same resolution.
Bi-fold Wall Cabinet Door – Chipped.
→ Same resolution.
Toe Kick for Lazy Susan – Missing entirely. HD placed a separate (incorrect) order that never arrived.
→ After a 1+ hour call, replacement came too late—contractors rebuilt it themselves (and did a better job).
Toe Kick Covers – Inconsistent design.
→ Marilyn explained the design; better specs would have avoided this. We only received basic renders with minimal measurements.
Kitchen Sink Mismatch – Original sink wasn’t considered in the design.
→ We compromised with a smaller sink. Marilyn helped research the largest fit, and HD covered the cost—this was helpful.
Design Diagrams – For a $21k+ purchase, we expected detailed blueprints.
→ Only received a partial diagram and basic 3D render—no labels or full measurements. Marilyn suggested bringing in our contractor, but we shouldn't have had to pay extra for clarification.
Island Confusion – Unclear if structural components were included. No instructions; 3 'Stock wood' pieces arrived bowed.
→ Replacements also bowed and too wide. Contractors had to cut them, causing minor cosmetic issues.
Shoe Molding (Wall Cabinets) – Missing.
→ Marilyn agreed; more was delivered.
Oven Door Replacement – Replacement was chipped too.
→ Promised within 7–10 days, arrived 2+ weeks later—contractor had already finished.
Drawer Door (Stovetop) – Obvious scratch on the replacement.
→ Same delay as above.
Home Depot's Resolution: Offered $500 as compensation—not reflective of the time and effort we invested. Escalating required formal documentation and signatures.
Lowes: We sourced our countertop from Lowe’s. It was installed within 4 days of purchase—an experience that far exceeded HD’s. We recommend considering Lowe’s first.

Store inventory is always inaccurate even after I called in the day before to confirm they had the product but all of a sudden all 8 of the tool bags were gone but still in the system and online showing in stock for all 8 units. The associate also was incredibly annoyed I asked her to help me after I spent 20 mins looking myself in various points of the store.

I normally don’t write reviews for one offs but 0 stars for consistently poor customer service. For context I have done major renovation recently and bought around 30k of materials from them. Last year they charged me for 22 flooring packs while I got only 20. I realized their mistake and went back to the store but no help. They said they will call me back once they have reviewed the recording but they never did. Today I rented a chainsaw that had worn out chain on it and did not do the job I brought it for. They charged me full rental money. On top of that the person at rental was suspecting as if I’m lying to him about it constantly saying this has been heavily used. Obviously I tried to use it but it didn’t work. Their supervisor came and also rudely said I’m not refunding it period. It is pretty evident they don’t care of customer service or experience. Rude and suspicious behavior.

I’m having a terrible, awful experience with flooring department and IT. I have visited the store 4 times including today and IT and managerial staffs have not been able to process my refund of a flooring order. My family and friends will never use this branch after this extremely disappointing experience.

i am not one to complain about places like ever i like to leave good reviews but this home depot is not the place to go.
i was made uncomfortable by a staff meme her while exiting the building this afternoon.
A staff member of home depot was being quite inappropriate towards me. when i walked outside the building this staff meme we asked me if i was good then i replied with “yes” as i walking away he was still speaking but then after i got far enough away they then made a disturbing comment to what looked like an average customer. It was weird.
i’m not trying to diss anyone but if your staff members are being unprofessional and inappropriate then you got a problem. check up on the people you hire that’s all i say.

There is a lady in the flooring department who has such an attitude. I frequently purchase from this store and have always gotten an attitude from her. Her name is Felicia. I believe she is a manager of the department. I spend big $s at Home Depot and has for years. Why do I have to deal with attitude??
