I don’t usually leave reviews, but after being charged $173 for a haircut and a simple glaze, I feel obligated to speak up, not just for myself, but for other long-time clients who may not realize what’s happening.
The haircut was quoted at $80 by the owner, Mary. When I asked how the rest of the price was calculated, she couldn’t give me a direct answer. Instead, she pulled up my past appointments and decided to charge $90 for the glaze, which apparently was the same price I’ve paid in the past for full balayage treatments that took hours to complete and involved multiple steps.
The problem? That’s not what I was there for today.
At this appointment, I received no balayage, no highlights, no full color, just a basic, standalone glaze on my brunette hair and a regular haircut. A glaze is a 20-minute toner service. It’s quick, low-maintenance, and does not involve the time, technique, or materials of a full color process. And yet, somehow, it was priced higher than the haircut itself.
When I asked for an explanation, Mary and the front desk justified it by pointing to what I “usually pay” when I was blonde and paying hundreds of dollars for each appointment. As if it’s completely okay to overcharge a client based on their previous spending at the salon.
Let’s be clear, you don’t get to charge people based on what they’ve paid in the past for entirely different services. That’s not just unprofessional, it’s disrespectful. It’s disrespectful to clients like me who have supported the salon for nearly 10 years and have spent thousands over the years and never once complained when the pricing matched the service. But this time, it didn’t. And when I asked questions, instead of giving me a clear, professional breakdown, I got vague deflections and a shrug of “that’s what you’ve paid before.”
That’s not acceptable. It’s not ethical. And it’s not how you treat clients.
If you’re thinking about booking here, get your pricing confirmed before your service, because they clearly rely more on your wallet history than on honesty. And if you’re a long-time client like me, understand that your past loyalty may be used against you. Won’t be coming back.

Jen did my hair and she did an amazing job! I called the day before to see if they had any availability and they fit me right in, everyone was so kind and she did exactly what I wanted and gave me the most amazing head massage and blowout, she was very gentle no head pulling, overall great experience!

I highly recommend Jen for your nails and Shannon for your hair. I feel special when I am there I have some health issues an some time I need help they're always there for me.

I have my hair cut and styled by Dorothy. She is wonderful! I always get a great cut, and she's so fun to spend time with! I drive from Blairstown to Sparta because she's worth it! The staff are always really nice, and it's just a great place to feel spoiled for a while❤️

I had my first visit at Mancuso this past weekend and my stylist was Alyssa. I had a scalp treatment and haircut. I could have fallen asleep at the sink it was so relaxing and Alyssa made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire service. My haircut was amazing. Overall experience was excellent and I will certainly be back ? Thank you again Alyssa!!

I've been going to the same hairdresser for 12 years. I recently moved to Sparta and while I still love my previous hairdresser was looking for a local salon. I went to another location in October and was underwhelmed my the service, and over stimulated by the environment. Before heading back to my old hairdresser 60 minutes in white plains ny I decided to try Mancuso's. I am super glad I did. Gino did an amazing job. The salon was chill and the service offered was elevated. A few days after my first appointment I received a call from the owner checking in on my experience. Due to my schedule we were unable to connect. However, the effort says it all. I am all about good service. I will pay for good service. Unfortunately now adays some locations are pricey without the service. Mancuso's was well priced for the service offered.

Thank you to Sharon at the front desk who was so helpful and kind making my reservation. I have been seeing Karen for years she is one of the best. I have also recently have seen Gabrielle, these two are the best at Mancusos! Highly recommend these two ladies!! So personable and really make me enjoy my time there.

Mancuso was highly recommended to me by two ladies that I randomly complimented their hair. I ended visiting the Salon for a consult on highlights/platinum hair. Luckily enough I was slotted in right after the consult and had a full head of highlights done. I can't stress enough on what an amazing job they did on my hair. Thankfully I finally found the perfect place for my hair. Friendly staff, Chic decor. Highly recommend. Five stars!

I think I'm on to something... and it's this salon! I had balayage with Gino, and I HIGHLY recommend him. My experience was a delight. I felt pampered and listened to about what I wanted to accomplish. The results were fantastic and I look forward to returning again for a blow out and to go even lighter.

I've been going to Mancuso for as long as I can remember- I've had every hair color under the sun, have used all different types of extensions (clip in, halo, you name it, its been in my head), every prom and formal hairstyle/makeup was done here as a kid and it was always perfect.It's so wonderful to be able to walk into a salon and know you're going to leave with exactly the color, style and length you're looking for... I now live 3 hours away and STILL make the drive back to have my hair done & color maintained. The stylists take the time to get to know what you want, the receptionists are warm & the assistants do all they can to make sure you have everything you need. 10/10 always.Special shout out to Sam & Tori for my most recent color changes and highlight touch ups in the last year. Sam is an absolute wiz at color matching my natural hair with the extensions every time! I also always leave with the BEST bouncy blowout every time- These ladies truly do it all!
