I went to Shoprite Greater Morristown yesterday. Terrible experience. Spoke with managers Matt and Cory.I brought my own bags. Cashier refused to use them saying she doesn’t know how I clean my bags and cleaning products give her a rash. She didn’t ask if I cleaned them just presumed. She refused to allow them. I offered to bag my own but she said she has to keep moving and then aged them all in plastic while I unloaded my filled cart. Law changes soon. I thought we should bring own.The deli counter I was forbidden to speak with anyone. Plexi up and a kiosk. No speaking with a person is permitted. They told me it’s a policy they have if you are ordering more than one deli meat item.Seafood man was so nasty when I asked for wild shrimp then grunted and pointed at farm raised. I said oh sorry I was asking for wild. He yelled “no is no!” I never heard him say no with the two masks and the plexi. Then poultry. No bags for the poultry. I ask and she sends me to the other side of the store for it saying “oh I guess we are out over here”Then cashier drops my raspberries on the ground spilling all over. Charges me. Asks her colleague to get some for her. Three of them say “no” “sorry I’m busy”. She hands me receipt and starts taking next customer. I asked what about the raspberries?” She tells me how she charged me and no one can get them “sorry”. Another tells her “sorry can’t help don’t know the store”. I tell her to get manager who I already spoke to about the other issues who says “sorry ma’am”. That’s it….so cashier goes to get the raspberries she dropped and then I leave. I guess she felt ok to charge me for them and not give them? Was this aberrant? I never go there-is this usual? Or a one off thing? Everyone was so incredibly rude and manager didn’t care. Furthermore he told me their policy on not speaking to deli is true bc of the pandemic which makes no sense since he himself isn’t even wearing a mask anyway. So what-is the pandemic only affecting the meats? Total insanity.

Warning- shop rite of greater Morristown is in the middle of getting rid of their own drivers and are subbing out the work.. as a result my orders are continually late.. usually within a 1/2 hour, which is annoying because I have conference calls that I have to schedule around. But today takes the cake, I ordered steaks and expected them for dinner since the delivery was supposed to be here between 4:15-6:15. I have called 3 times and spoken with the asst manager at the store, was told that they would do door dash and I would have my groceries by 6:50 and here is it almost 7:40 and no groceries. My kids and I are starting to eat the Halloween candy because instead of real food because of this debacle. This is unacceptable and no way to run a business.

I am a bit concerned as shelves continue to be bare even those not totally connected to crisis as an example and these shelves have been empty for sometime, ketchup, cake mix, pasta, all can fish, meats, etc. are you going out of business? Sure feels like it.

I am very disappointed by the Shop Rite of Washington, so much so that I will not be returning. I had an order to pick up at 4:00 on February 3, 2019. I arrived and parked in the ShopRite from home section. Mine was the only car there. After a full 15 minutes, someone came out and said they would return with my order. To make a long story short, when I got home I found I was charged for one Item I did not receive and my cold cut order was missing but not charged. I called the store and was told my account would be credited for the missing Item (I live 20 min. away) I sent an e-mail voicing my concerns. I have had no response and as of this morning no credit for the missing Item.

This company abuses and does not value their employees whatsoever!!! Managers are sent to work hours away from where they live and are expected to work late nights and come in early the next morning a few times a week getting little sleep , they are putting their safety at risk. They are so exhausted their health suffers. The Sumas family does not care about their workers or their families. Village Shoprites are a disgrace!
