The last time I went to Netcong Hardware was maybe 10-15 years ago. Staff was very helpful finding what I wanted, and the store had a very old-school vibe even back then. But I remember buying concrete blocks for a science fair project WAAAY back when I was a kid and Netcong Hardware was still in Netcong on Maple Street where Family Ford is now. I think it moved to Stanhope sometime around 1980 or 1981. Wonderful to see an old legacy business still in operation after so many decades.

I prefer going to and supporting local businesses whenever I can. I love walking into Netcong hardware being greeted and asking me what I need. I’m in and out within 5 minutes unless I’m buying paint! I highly recommend especially if you don’t want to waste your time wandering around the big box stores looking for something or someone to help you.

I walked into this store today for the first time to browse, but it was so refreshing to easily find things for some of my projects.Normally, I go to Lowe's or Home Depot, realize they don't have something I need, get frustrated trying to get help, and then finally realize that the leadership at these massive corporations only care about how they will show growth this quarter instead of being there for their customers. This is the reason stores like Netcong Hardware still exist. They manage a great customer experience that you just can't get at a big box store despite having a tiny fraction of the resources. On top of that they still manage to have what you need despite being about the same size as a single aisle of the bigger stores.I'm going to make this place my first stop before resorting to going to a big box store. At least they put forward the effort in knowing what their customers need.

Top notch customer service. Picked up a Suncast 5x7 shed and the box would not fit in my Jeep. The sales associate assisted me in opening up the box and helped me place each piece in my car. You don't get that type of service at the big box stores that's for sure. 5 stars for me.

Called the store and ordered a gallon of paint. When I got to the store there was a sign stating pick up orders in back so I went around back and got on line at least 6 feet apart. The salesperson came out and helped the person in front of me, when he was done the salesperson gave my a look I guess cause I was wearing a mask. He went back in the store walked around for a while as I could see inside. Never came out to help me. After about 10-15 minutes another patron got in line behind me and a minute later that same salesperson walked right by me and handed this person his order. At that point I left and will give my business to another store from now on.

If your looking for “ excellent “ advice.... help .... referrals for local carpenters... handymen...who to talk to etc ... etc ... etc ... etc... ..... and on and on ...local family business.... that has a truly wonderful gentleman running a family business that ... May cost a few cents more... but you spend more in gas to get SOME advice.... this place wants to help ... support someone who cares ... opposed to someone who just wants your buck $$$$$$
