FYI... this is the 3rd or 4th time in having service done at Nielsen Nissan in Stanhope. The first 3x I had issues. We had a radio fail in our 2019 Rogue. The radio put in was another one with issues and it came from a 2018 Rogue. We found out since Sirius XM had that radio ID tied to a 2018 Rogue. They were hesitant to look at it a second time without charging. It was free, but nothing was done to fix it so until we sold the car back to them, we had a car with a radio that would just shut off every few times we were in the car. It was never resolved. I also scheduled an oil change through 2 people last month, only to show up at the dealership and there was no appointment in the calendar. I was inconvenienced in showing up and wasted my time from my job only to have to re-schedule again.
This time around, my car's transmission failed. The service was great this time. I think since Anthony McGuire took over as manager of service, things have changed for the better. Milosz Zubel deserves a raise for doing all that he could in comping my rental for 7 days, as well as keeping me informed of progress. What I would like to say is that because we had insurance involved since my car was damaged when it was transported by the tow company, Nissan gave me a hard time in releasing my car without the payment being made by my insurance company. I had to talk to Anthony personally of this issue, and he assured me that this was the accounting department that was giving me the issue.
He resolved this and let me have my car back 11 days after it was first brought in with a failed transmission. He deserves tremendous credit for understanding my frustration of having to call my insurance, open a claim, follow up on status with them, as well as the towing company hanging up the phone on me and not taking responsibility.
The only thing I am going to say about Nissan's accounting area giving me a hard time in getting my car back without payment from Liberty Mutual is this. Nissan needs to understand that we have paid out over $120,000 in the 25+ years that we have been a customer of theirs. We have purchased 9 Nissan vehicles since 1997.
This type of support and payment should somehow be recognized over the years but it falls through the cracks and there is never anything to be said about what type of customers we are to them.
Furthermore, after the letter I wrote to NMAC years ago when the CVT failed in our Rogue on the highway at over 55mph and then having to pay for that partially only to sell the car back to them needs to be also mentioned again. This happened at 101,500 miles. 1,500 miles after the factory warranty ended, and they did not honor the warranty only 1,500 miles after it expired knowing our family could of been hurt when that happened and nobody seemed to understand that. I wrote them to discontinue CVT transmissions at the time, and here we are again 7 years later in a different vehicle with the same problem.
The CVT failed in my 2018 Nissan Sentra at 34k miles. We should not even be having this conversation with the small amount of mileage on the car. They need to remove this design and go back to the classic timing chains they had in older cars years ago.
I would appreciate it if my comments were forwarded to NMAC so that someone can read what type of customers we are over the years and the fact that now we had 2 CVT's fail 7 years apart in 2 different vehicles.
We are still Nissan customers even after this last CVT failure due to the confidence and comfort and care that Anthony McGuire's team provided for us. This was when i was starting to lose confidence in Nielsen Nissan since it has been worse each time that we need services since it changed from Stanhope Nissan to Nielsen Nissan.

I’ve been taking my cars to Nielsen Nissan in Stanhope for service for at least a decade. The Service Team is knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and efficient. The interior renovation to the customer lounge in the service area is very inviting and comfortable. It was a long time coming but worth the wait.

Leaving this review specifically for Milosz in service. I will not return to the sales department since they made me pay thousands over the residual value when buying my car out of a lease which is technically illegal. I had stopped going there for service but happened to be back up there last month and ended up working with Milosz in regards to changing transmission fluid. Kelly Nissan in Easton had not recommended it get changed past 80k and a previous mechanic told me not to change it at 60k, my car was over 90k so I didnt know what to do. Milosz was adamant about it being drained and refilled even at 90. Stuck between two different recommendations from two dealerships, I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs, who still couldn't connect me with an actual tech expert but still sided with Milosz. The fact that he was firm in his recommendation led me to trust him and get the fluid changed. It has been a week a so far my car seems to be running fine. I did not appreciate ending back up on Nielsen's annoying email list after, but I'm thankful that Milosz provided the proper recommendation and was also patient with my various phone calls and scheduling constraints.

Great dealership! This is the third car I have secured working with Gary. He's wonderful, and trustworthy. The Finance guys are really nice and a pleasure to work with as well.. I can't say enough positive things about Nielsen Nissan in Stanhope. A very professional team, a wide selection of vehicles, and they will work with you in a transparent and friendly manner. I am totally comfortable referring Gary and the entire team to all friends and family.

Dan Poinsett made buying a car the most non stressful and easy. No pressure and I felt like I was buying a car from my son. He was a pleasure to deal with. The whole atmosphere at dealership is so inviting and non sreessful.

Very often buying a new vehicle can be a very stressful experience. I can’t say that, because Gary and the staff at Nielsen Nissan made the experience very very easy and very satisfying. All the people involvedWere extremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and extremely helpful. As I told Gary if anybody ask’s me about buying a new vehicle somewhere, I will tell them to go to Nielsen Nissan.
