My children played in the pickle ball camp at 11 for the first time today. Coach Lindsey, and all the other coaches, are absolutely amazing. She helped my shy kiddo fit right in and enjoy the day! Thanks Lindsey you made our day !

Always wanted to hang ten? Well, here you can! Lessons are mostly kids (teens and younger) but all ages -- including Grandma - accepted. Lessons are booked online and take about an hour, down by the Windrift, about 81st street and the ocean. Lessons run about every hour (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, I think) with about 15 minutes in between hours. Wetsuits available to borrow and are recommended. BYO if you have one. Boards also provided, but BYO if you have one. It does get cold. Lessons are weather depended. Quick dry land training, then you and your coach go out. These are group lessons, so depending on your child's swimming ability, strength, age, etc., there could be more than one kid per coach. The kids either get towed out by the teachers or paddle the board out themselves. The coaches hold the boards for the kids and discuss what to look for in a wave, then turn the board around, push the child into the wave after it crests, and yell "up!" when it's time to pop. The nice, slow break in Stone Harbor allows for a shallow, calm "wave" to ride into shore. At $30 or so per hour, it's a great deal and great way to learn.
