I received a quick fix today on my auto for a battery replacement, but I was taken advantage of and over charged for the labor. I was not given a quote but I did not ask for one. When I phone and asked what the bill was I almost fell off the chair. $499.00 for a visit to my home to jump start my vehicle , battery replacement and labor.. That was highway robbery... Lesson learned but be warned..Mary D.

I've been taking my three vehicles here for years. Always great, high quality, reliable service at reasonable prices. I wouldn't consider taking my vehicles anywhere else.

Ditch these incompetent middle men! My boss bought a barbecue, stand and cover but was sold the wrong stand and wrong cover for the barbecue. I didn't have my bosses receipt but thought since they're locals, Harquail might just look up the purchase and rectify their mistake. THE GUY COULDN'T HAVE CARED LESS. Said it would take him 2 days to look it up, even though he had absolutely no intention of doing so. Just pass on these clowns and go straight to the company. Not worth the hassle. Shop local, support brick and mortar. HAH! Now I'm going to the barbecue company itself. What an unnecessary hassle. Steer clear! You've been warned!

I've been using Harquail Brothers for decades. In short - they are great! Their auto service department is terrific. And I've also purchased 2 BBQ grills there. Lou and Jon gave me solid service last week. Thank you!

Honest, reliable, fair business for many needs. My family and I have been using Harquail's for decades for cars, grills, etc. They are a real, old fashioned, pragmatic shop that delivers on honest, quality service. I recommend them highly.

I've been a very satisfied customer of Harquail Brothers for more than 30+ years. Starting with a grill, Mr. Harquail Sr. helped me to pick out the best and most reasonable grill for my purposes and coached me on assembling it to save money. It was the start of a great working relationship; since I have had auto work done, more grills, and got rave reviews from friends in surrounding towns for recommending they try Harquail. (Dave and Maria from Montclair are the most recent.) Most recently, my Jeep rear bumper had been damaged by someone backing into me in a car with a trailer hitch, damaging the panel over my hitch. I was told by a local dealer that the entire exhaust system would have to be replaced at more than +1K. I happened to be at Harquail soon after and mentioned it to Steve. He said he'd like to take a look at it, and resolved the problem for $200 plus the purchase of a new hitch cover from a Jeep dealer. A big thanks, and when I need auto work or grills, I'll be back! Thanks for being a great, friendly, helpful and HONEST partner.

Harquail Brothers did a fantastic job cleaning and servicing our grill - and when a minor issue surfaced on the backend, they promptly addressed and corrected it. the service people were respectful and cleaned up... and it was nothing short of a messy job, so I appreciated their customer service. I highly recommend them.

Horrible service. First I waited many months for my grill. Finally after I called multiple times they said it was in. After they installed my new grill they told me it was the wrong grill and I had to pay much more money. I haggled down the price and kept the grill. Jim the original owner wouldn’t have let this happen. I rarely used the grill the first year as it came towards the end of the season. Upon using it this year I noticed grease stains on my deck and a loose cover over wires. I fixed the cover and put a big drip pan under the grill. I never had to do this before. This did not solve the problem. I called Harquail and they sent a team for service. I was not home. When I inspected the grill there were many dried drip and burnt particles all over the area of my deck. It was a mess. For $170 I didn’t expect this. I called immediately and was told they would send someone out. This did not happen. I attempted to scrub the area but the grease stains remained. I again called and was told I would get a call back. Again no one called back. I asked for the manager or owner and spoke to another person who was not either and was told the manager would call back. Again this did not happen. After I called again they wouldn’t put me through to either the manager or owner and was told this was not there problem. Jim Harquail who I have dealt with would never have given such poor customer service. I have used Harquail for many years and will never use them again. Poor attitude and extremely poor customer service. Very disappointed

I needed a car inspection and Richie one of the mechanics took my car to the shop. Then Steve did the inspection for me without extra cost. Great service and helpful people! Would recommend Harquail for any car service. Won't disappoint!

TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GARAGE!! Told me to bring my truck on tuesday. Did so. Called at four to ask if could pick up.,..no....they did not touch it. OK. Wednesday. Had to call again for status. Too much for them to call me I suppose. Was informed I needed a new Power Control Module ( PCM ). I asked if they could do the work. No. Have to take to a dealer for the repair. . Went to my consultant....youtube. Youtube is vastly more informed than these clowns. Not a real hard job for most mechanics. Fine. Don't fix the PCM then. But, please replace two bolts on the intermediate steering shaft ( the guy on the phone asked me where the bolts were located ). On the steering shaft maybe??? And replace the accelerator cable. What the heck, might as well get some work done, right? UPDATE: not the PCM. Removed it and sprayed with CRC electrical cleaner. Auto scanner did not alert to any P030x codes. What say Harquail? Nope. Thursday. Stopped by to pick up. No bolts or cable installed. Unbelievable! No explanation beyond the trite tried and true word.."understaffed." Yep. so "understaffed" they could not bother to pick up a phone to let me know they were too incompetently scheduled to do the work. On the bright side, I am sure the cable is not now attached to the steering column. A small relief. But folks, it's an "F.U." customer service environment these days and Harquail Bros. are a prime example. Really wonder if all their mechanics are ASE certs. Maybe, maybe not. ======================= So =========================== Do your car a favor. Take it to Brookside Friendly service. Call (908) 273-1677. Tell him Joe sent you. Good luck and be well. Harquail usually replies to yelp reviews. Don't bother, Harquail. You are filled with shinola.
