Just stayed at the surf city hotel ! Wonderful ! Enjoyed everything ! Our room was clean and staff was friendly! Even the ghosts in room 12 were friendly lol ! We had a very positive paranormal experience. Yes, we were scared but it wasn’t malicious just a lot of shadows, weird cold spots, and someone sitting on our bed at night. Also our bag moved in the middle of the night .

Only reason rooms got a 4 is that they are a bit smaller than many hotel chains. However, rooms and bathrooms are very clean and have all the fun amenities, ie good shampoos, lotions. I really do like the charging station they have as opposed to fighting with an outlet. Price is really good for seasonal rental and patio/restaurant/bar area very good!!

We wish the hotel was right on the beach but one block away is fine too! Our bathroom did have gnats in it, but other than that the room was clean, spacious and homey! The bar was a lot of fun, especially with the live singers & Shorty Long!!! The staff was friendly too!!! Xoxo

The room was clean and comfortable and decorated cutely. And wow, such a short walk to the beautiful beach! Parking was a bit difficult at times, but we always seemed to get the last space. I wish the towel exchange was earlier in the day, but the office did have towels when we needed them. The happy hour food, drinks and music were lots of fun. Great stay!

This was our first time staying at Surf City Hotel and they did not disappoint. They text me while I was on the beach, to let me know when my room was ready, since we arrived way before check in time. It was nice that we were able to get into our room hours before we were supposed to. Check in was quick and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and clean, and it exceeded my expectations.

Do not go to eat here. Great atmosphere however service was very slow our table was not checked on, waters were never filled, and plates were never cleared. Food was cold by the time it came out. Worst experience I have had with service at a restaurant in a long time.

My friends and I were so excited to check out the bar for pre-dinner drinks last night; instead, we were treated with disrespect and humiliated in front of the entire bar, unrightfully so, just because the bald bouncer with glasses doesn’t know the difference between a real ID and a fake one. After sitting down to enjoy some music and order some drinks, we got our IDs checked not once, not twice, but THREE times. I know we’re young and look good for our age, but seriously? All you needed to do was shine a flashlight over the ID or scan it and be done. The “boss”, who was extremely dismissive and unprofessional, didn’t give us the time of day because he didn’t believe my friend’s ID picture was real…seriously? Because she had a different hair color and a slightly younger looking face? We got stares from everyone and it was extremely uncomfortable for us. If we didn’t get a notification that our table was ready next door, we would’ve stayed and demanded service because we are all over 21! We are not so stupid that we would go to a bar on the island with a fake ID, we’ve been coming here for years and know how seriously they take that kind of thing here. What was meant to be a special night to celebrate my friend’s 21st was made a little less positive because of someone else’s incompetence. Learn how to check an ID or maybe learn about customer service. We won’t be coming back and definitely don’t recommend anyone else to go, especially if you are younger—we felt personally targeted and treated like trash. Unacceptable.

If you are a young person do not come here. or honestly don’t come here at all. I am 21 and so are my friends and we sat down at the table waiting to be served and a bald man who wasn’t even wearing a uniform asked for my ID and DENIES me simply for my ID picture. I tried to explain that I was young when I took the photo but he was blatantly disrespectful and smug. He embarrassed me and my friends who simply wanted to have a chill night with drinks. That bald guy needs to learn how to differentiate a real ID from a fake if he thinks he knows how to run a bar. Never coming back to this absolute embarrassment.

If I could give zero stars I would. I am a local and it’s my first 21st summer here with my friends who are also all over 21. We went for pre dinner drinks it’s this so called establishment and were embarrassed beyond extent. We were ID’d by three different people, one of which walked so far away with our ID’s that we could not see them anymore. The last so called “man” that walked up to us didn’t even looked like he worked there and demanded for our ID’s again and said to my friend that her ID photo did not look her so it’s fake. Meanwhile it is still her VERTICAL ID, who has a fake vertical ID? All they had to do was scan it, but we were humiliated and asked to leave. NEVER GO HERE! Complete imbeciles! I am expecting a reply as well.

First time staying here. Simple rooms but super clean! Steps from the beach. Friendly staff. Comfy beds. We were visiting family and only needed a place to sleep but the restaurant looked super cute. They had live bands play and outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend. We’ll be back!

Location was great near everything and plenty to do. Hotel staff was fantastic! Even if I asked a million questions they were so understanding and helpful. Room was comfortable, and bathroom was a nice size. Bed was comfortable and linens and towels very clean. House keeping missed vacuuming under the dresser. I dropped something and reached under the dresser to grab it only to find someone else's lip gloss and dirt. Besides a little more attention to vacuuming, the place was perfect. We would definitely stay again. Stayed in the hotel part, and honestly didn't have any problem with noise from the entertainment playing below is. ⛱️❤️
