This is my first and last time with this so called mechanic.
I brought my Mini in for a clutch issue and this was hands-down one of the worst car repair experiences I’ve ever had. From the start, I was told multiple times over the phone that the car was “ready,” only to show up and be told it was still the same — or that I just had to “get used to it.” This went on for weeks.
The work started with replacing the clutch slave cylinder (first an aftermarket part, then a genuine Mini part), then the master cylinder. I paid $780, yet the clutch pedal STILL didn’t feel right and the car struggled to engage gears. Each time I test-drove it and pointed out the problems, I was told the system was “perfect,” only for the mechanic to admit it wasn’t properly bled.
To make matters worse, the car was returned dirty, damaged, and poorly installed: they CUT the carpet to complete the master cylinder install. Let that sit in your head. Does that sound like a correctly installed part to you??? Trim scratched, seats stained, steering wheel sticky, and a seatbelt bracket completely undone with the bolt laying on my rear seat — ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC.
I took the car to MINI, and they confirmed what I already knew: the clutch system hadn’t been bled properly, and the brake system hadn’t been bled AT ALL. MINI explained that when the clutch cylinder is replaced, the brakes must also be bled — something that was completely ignored here.
Vatch himself is a nice guy and called a few weeks later. He reimbursed me about $100 after I explained MINI’s findings, which I appreciate, but it doesn’t fix the fact that he completely failed the job. It’s obvious he realized mid-job that the initial slave cylinder work wasn’t enough money and tried to shift the blame to the master cylinder. WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY. He also knew he did wrong because he voluntarily called me.
Despite multiple visits and repeated assurances that the car was “perfect,” it never left in proper working condition. If you care about honesty, quality, and having your car actually fixed, look elsewhere.

Such a nice guy. Came in with a fan problem. Even though he was full, the owner quickly checked out my car. Found it to be a small relay issue and took care of it on the spot. Checked my battery to make sure it wasn't drained and then sent me on my way. Highly recommend.

They took me immediately when other body shops in the area had 45 minute wait times.
They did the job quickly, but prices seem a little higher than average.

Had to have an alternator and belt replacement, brought it in and had it repaired and returned to me in the same day. Great work and I’m extremely satisfied with the customer service I received.

I am absolutely thrilled to share my experience with J & Z Auto Repair! Without a doubt, I highly recommend them for all of your auto mechanic needs! J & Z truly saved me when I was in a tough spot. Additionally, J & Z worked seamlessly with my warranty company, which made the entire process so much easier for me. They charged me a very fair price for all the work done, which is hard to come by these days!
In summary, if you’re looking for an auto repair shop that combines expertise with exceptional customer service, look no further than J & Z Auto Repair! I couldn’t be happier with their service and the results!

The staff is wonderful, and my dear sweet car is running like a champ with 92000 miles on her. Picked her up today after her tune-up and she’s running smoother than ever. I would never hesitate to recommend this mechanic.
