I had a Bone density test done at University Radiology. The first part of the scan for the lumbar spine went OK. After that, the machine had some trouble starting for the 2nd part for hip-femur neck. Finally, when the machine started, it stopped half way during scan. Then, it restarted but once again seemed to get stuck and went back to the start position. Technician did not answer when I asked why it was scanning more than once. On its 3rd try, the scanner finally did the full scan for the hip-femur neck. So, essentially, the machine ran 3 times to do hip-femur scan. After it was all done, I asked the tech again why 3 attempts instead of 1 pass for the hip-femur scan like I had several times in the past and also today for the lumbar spine scan. I was not given any explanation as if the tech was trying to hide something that did not go right.Later, I spoke to Dexa Scan supervisor; while talking on the phone, that person seemed to find something about the issue but quickly declined to explain and said the doctor will call me about it – once again trying to hide and cover up an issue the tech and supervisor should have clearly explained to me. For a technical issue like this, there is really no need to have the radiologist call the patient!Trust is a very important element in medical practice; if one cannot trust doctors, technicians, nurses, or the facilities, no matter how good they are, it is worthless as patients would always doubt the accuracy and efficiency of their work. Similar issues could lead to excessive radiation for studies such as a CT scan. These providers should be honest in their dealings with their patients. On a previous occasion, despite my providing my correct sex (male), ethnicity, and the real reason for the test, they used “Postmenopause” and incorrect ethnicity in the interpretation of the test. It seems they are not paying good attention to details and what patients fill out in their history and registrationiPad. At one of their facilities, there were some other issues as well related to Covid precautions thatneeded rectification to protect other patients.

Appointments are easy to set up online or by phone. I was seen at or very close to my appointment time. Person who did the exam was very professional and kept me informed of everything I needed to know at all times.

The elevator is not wide enough for a person in a wheelchair. Too tight.

Teaneck facility is my favorite for all my studies (US, Rx, MRI, mammogram) Yesterday I was in wheelchair, I can’t be more grateful about all support I received specially from mammogram technologies. Amazing staff. Strongly recommend. Results on time. Easy to schedule your appointment.

My mom had an appointment she was seating Ready to get the mammogram they ask her where she did her last mammo she told me somewhere else and the nurse or medical assistant told her to get dress and that she was going to cancel her appointment because she did it somewhere else, so my mom had to get dress after waiting 1 hour and paying $60 dollar Uber to get there and they call the doctor and after she left they call her saying the doctor say we can do it and gave her another appointment for the week after, after she was there ready for the mammo!

The Teaneck office is the best around. I've had countless tests performed there. I have always been taken on time. The tech's are professional, patient, kind & gentle. You can use the patient portal to read/print the test results. The billing dept. seems to do a good job in submitting everything to the insurance company as I never have received a bill from them. Keep up the great service, it's so hard to come by lately.
