The old charm and beauty of this hotel definitely stops at the front doors. The carpet throughout the hotel is dirty and unkempt, and everything smells of mustiness and mold. Our room took things to another level however. We have broken outlets, our air conditioner blow hot stale air, the bathroom fan doesn't function and is covered in mold, there is mold and dirt behind the drapes, one of the windows won't open, there is paint peeling off of the walls and the smell of stale cigarette smoke is awful. The worst part however, was discovering the rat boxes under both of our beds. You have to see it to believe it. It is unclear to me how the health department has allowed this facility to remain open.

Had a problem with the room, and they could care less. Would not recommend. I would rate this hotel 2 out of 5, and that is high.Rooms: Had a problem with the room and moved to the new room at 4am. There was no compensation for the issue.Nearby activities: ShoppingSafety: Very dark parkingFood & drinks: NoneNoteworthy details: Very old and dreary. No restaurant. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

It was clean. First, the heat wasn't working. We had to leave the room and go out. That's how cold it was. They came and "fixed it" to the point it was too hot. The shower didn't work. I would stay there as a last resort. It's a shame because the town itself has a lot to offer.

Pretty out of date. Staff was helpful. Thermostat did not work in our room, TV did not work. Called front desk and they got it resolved. Generally clean and no frills.

Waited in an empty lobby for almost 20 minutes before someone showed up to check me in.Room was ok, but very dated. Mold in the shower and shower head fell off in my hand. Also room was very warm and thermostat wouldn't work to cool it down.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. My wife and I drove 9 hours to New Jersey to visit friends and this was the hotel that was the cheapest and near to where we would be for most of the stay. This place is pretty good for what they offer. The bathrooms need some work I’ll admit but other then that the whole room was clean and we felt comfortable staying there. I do wish they offered free breakfast like other places but if you’re looking for just a place to crash and don’t care about amenities then this will be the place for you. I will probably book with this hotel again since I go to Jersey a lotRooms: The rooms need some work especially the bathrooms. Sheets were clean and bed was fine. Just the bathrooms were not as good as I expected and need some workNearby activities: Close to near by friends and food places. Along with mallsSafety: I felt like the place was safe. We weren’t afraid at leaving to places at night time

A hotel clearly waiting to know it's fate and in the meantime being allowed to deteriorate. The bedroom was a great size and clean. But the décor of the hotel overall was old , dated and in many areas, in obvious need of repairs. The restaurant/ café is closed indefinitely. The carpets in some of the public areas , eg the stairs, are in need of replacement or at the very least, a deep clean.

Staff was friendly and allowed up to check-in a little early when we arrived in town. This hotel was a short drive from a wedding venue we were visiting and the location was convenient. No frills, older decor, etc. But considerably cheaper than the competition in the area. We were not going to have time to enjoy any amenities so didn't care that there wasn't a pool etc.Rooms: The hotel itself needs updating especially in the bathrooms. But the beds were comfy and clean at the linens were bright and clean so we had a comfortable and affordable stay compared to other hotels in the area.Food & drinks: The restaurant on site was closed.

I recently stayed 1 night in this hotel. It did not meet my expectations. I had reserved a room with two Queen beds. The room was not in good condition. It smelled badly and was extremely stuffy despite the A/C unit running non-stop (it was on and on the coolest setting when I arrived…so, it’s not like it was off for an extended period of time prior to my arrival). The bathroom sink faucet was missing part of the handle for the cold water…something that housekeeping should have noticed and alerted management and/or the maintenance staff of so that it could be addressed before guests arrived. There also appeared to be mold in one corner of our ceiling. The hallway was also NOT in good shape. The wallpaper around two adjacent rooms was secured to the wall by blue painter’s tape… not sure if those rooms were being renovated? Or, the wall paper was just peeling off due to age and excess humidity in the hallway? Bottom line, it felt like the A/C was NOT on in the hallway (at least of the 2nd floor, where our room was located). It appeared to be on in the hallway of the 1st floor. Given how dated The in-room air conditioning units are, management HAS to have the hallway A/C as the in-room units just cannot cool down the room appropriately. Given the stuffiness of the room and potential mold issue, we requested a new room. Betsie the front desk agent was very nice and upgraded us to the Alpine suite, which was much better. That room had TWO A/C units in it so the air was not as stuffy, and the bathroom actually had two functioning faucet handles! I’ll also note that the restaurant, Palmer’s Crossing, is closed. While this IS noted on their website when you click on “Dining”, the confirmation email I received for the reservation, indicates that the restaurant IS open. I hadn’t clicked on every link on their website, and assumed that the communication with my reservation was accurate, so I was rather disappointed to find that the restaurant was closed.

The A/C unit was not adequate, only cooled my room to 80 degrees. Additionally there were bugs infesting the room, ants crawling up my legs from the very first night.

Stayed one night as planned. It's an older hotel, and things are a little worn out. The room was clean, but amenities lack. Only a single cup coffee maker, accompanied by a single serving for regular and for decaf. Both dark roast. I personally don't like dark roast. Lighting is still cfl bulbs, and half of them were unscrewed. The fridge worked, but only one microwave is available, at the front desk, in our case, an elevator ride away. Bathroom was better than most i the same price range, but the toilets are not low flow. For a place trying to save, they should invest in utility saving options such as LED bulbs and low flow toilets. Additionally, the Tenafly downtown area does not open for breakfast until 9:00 am. Only two bagel shops seem open earlier, which is not good for those who may have restrictive diets. Hotel staff were friendly enough.

I booked on Priceline, my family and I checked into a hotel recently, they said no room to stay. They were over booked. Priceline still hasn't refunded my money. I had to pay nearly two times as much for another hotel.
