If you want to see cool trains, go here!Great guys running this place, my husband had an antique train he needed repaired & found this wonderful place at a train show....so glad he did. Repaired the train quickly & at a fair price. Not many places like this around anymore, we're grateful that they are in business!!!

I come weekly as the inventory is always changing. This is truly the best store and the largest inventory of model trains in New Jersey. If you can find what you’re looking for, just ask…it’s probably in the warehouse. They also have fixed many of my trains that were in need of repair. Anyone who is in this hobby in NJ should definitely come for a visit. Your won’t be disappointed.

Traveled over 45 minutes and they’re closed! Google states it’s open. What a waste of time and money. You guys need to get it together. Make a voice recording that tells your customers when you decide to close unexpectedly when they try calling your store.

If you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable model train store, don't bother going anywhere else! I had an old set of Lionel trains that I wanted to sell but was not sure of its value. The owner's honesty is very apparent! He explained why the set had no value, showed me around the shop, and ended up giving me an inexpensive new train set as a trade! Great place for newly interested and longtime train enthusiasts. Employees know all there is to know about model trains!

I am so pleased with the restoration done on my American Flyer standard trains. They were a birthday gift to my dad when he was about 12 so that would have been around August of 1932. We were all girls so dad didn’t set them up very often. I set them up infrequently as my boys were not interested. They sat years in their boxes. Storm Sandy was kind but they aged needing parts replaced, some rust repair and definitely new paint. The restoration brought them back to life. They have now been given to my grandson for his son. So now just a bit under 100 years old they will be enjoyed again. Thank you Train Doctor for the magnificent restoration. I know my dad woul be pleased.

The guys that actually repair the trains and work there are friendly and professional. THE OWNER OF THE PLACE IS HORRIBLE to deal with I had a train repaired there and it was a nightmare took 6 months to get it back and the owner wanted to charge me because he sent it to Bachmann to be repaired without consulting me first .when I refusedto pay shipping costs to BachmannThen he got arrogant and said you should have bought a real train that mine was junk . I'll never go back there

I bought a pre-owned K-line heavyweight passenger car from the TrainDoctor and it was shipped immediately and arrived very quickly. The condition of the car was actually very good, much better than I expected. It was well packed for shipping and arrived in great shape. Also, the price was very fair. Based on this first experience, I will buy from them again.

Recently I sent you my father’s childhood prewar Lionel 10E for a full restoration. Having never done this before I had my concerns and fears. My biggest concern or worry was what would I get back. The Lionel 10E car was in tough shape. Stored in the basement for decades and kids rough handling of the set had really taken its toll. The paint was chipped and faded. Parts were missing, bent or nothing worked. It didn't even run.My expectations were low.The finished work however was AWSOME, INCREDIBLE, and AMAZING!!!I was and still am, stunned at the level of craftsmanship and detailing. This train will never see storage or a basement ever again.

I contacted this store via e-mail on 12/11/22 requesting a quote / estimate to repair a MTH aquarium box car, a MTH K-Line Handcar, a MTH Box Car with a voltage meter and looking for a part for a MTH WorkHouse. I sent a detailed e-mail with photos explaining what I needed done with each item. I was just looking for a general idea of cost before I sent them $30 per item for repair work. By the way, the PayPal option via their website does not work that well. I think you have to be logged into PayPal before you click the link. In any event, the next day, 12/12 I received a one sentence response that they do not provide warranty service on any product that they did not sell. I wrote them back immediately and advised that I was only looking for one item fixed under a warranty and that I was still interested in an estimate for the other two items and whether they could get me the part for item 4. It's now 12/19 and they never responded. O scale trains are an expensive hobby and there are only so many potential customers for a niche market. Apparently, The Train Doctor does not need my business.
