“I have nothing but great things to say about this vet office. I am a crazy cat mom and I am a very anxious person when it comes to my animals. I found out on Sunday that my cat Scout would need a cystotomy surgery for a bladder stone. I called city by the sea on Monday (they were recommended to me by a ton of people on Facebook) and they got me in the same night for appointment. Dr. Santos-Melody spent so much time with me, doing an extensive evaluation on Scout, went over his blood work, his surgery, and answered any and all questions I had. She was incredible. We originally scheduled the surgery for the 18th but I called and expressed how stressed I was about the position he was in and they moved his surgery up for me. This has been such a crazy few days and I cannot express how easy they have made this process. Their staff, pricing, availability and all around business is just amazing. I seriously could not recommend them enough. Thank you to Karen, Dr. Santos-Melody and to the owner Dr. Tom for working with me and doing all you can do for my baby boy. I so so so so appreciate it !!”
“I’ve been going for 3.5 years and have had nothing but great experiences with all the drs and techs here. I have a dog & 2 cats and they all go; along with cats/kittens I’ve fostered. They are very compassionate and take a lot of time to review diagnosis and answer your questions. Their pricing is fair based on typical veterinary costs. They give clear estimates for procedures. Recommend them 100%!”
“While their care for my beloved Beagle Lilly of 16 years deserves 5 stars over the years, their "End of Life" Care was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Quoted from their website, "We understand this is not an easy decision to make and our team will never rush any part of this process". My family's experience was quite the opposite. They tried to RUSH the procedure with NO COMPASSION OR EMPATHY. My Dad brought Lilly in while I was at work, and the Doctor barely even looked at her and told my Dad she needed to "be put down INSTANTLY" and when he told her he would not make that decision without ME there, she told him to just "CALL" Me. (How would you feel if you got a phone call like that? My dog was my world. I rescued her when she was 1 years old. We had a deep bond as she was my furbaby.) He said he would not do that to me, nor did Lilly deserve to be put down without her WHOLE FAMILY there. He walked out with Lilly and the doctor called him the "Devil's Advocate" for not listening her to advice. It was sickening to hear this experience. All they want is money so they can go on vacation. We invested so much in this practice financially, and how they treated us with the, "End of Life" Care is HORRENDOUS. Lilly got the respect she deserved and died peacefully in the care of the SPCA Vets WHO WERE COMPASSIONATE AND LET HER FAMILY be there as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They were much more patient and compassionate. I will never bring an animal of mine here ever again. Thank you for caring for Lilly for 16 years, but she didn't deserve your negative energy and disrespect. If you want your pet to be treated with dignity, try somewhere else. Namaste.”

“I am so thankful for this practice! Everyone here is so kind and caring. They love Mokum and Mokum loves them. Before finding this practice, my dog used to hate going to the vet & would panic—now he walks happily into Atlantic vet. Moreover, he has intense separation anxiety and they go above and beyond to meet his needs to limit the amount of time he is away during procedures and are so loving in how they care for him when he is separate & stressed. They even took my calls over the weekend, and their pricing was reasonable—we can still send the kids to college!

“I brought my cat in late on a Friday afternoon, The tip of his tail had been severely injured. Dr. Vokral looked at it, she chose to stay late that night to perform emergency surgery & send him home with me on the same night. She made sure that he didn’t suffer one minute longer than he had to. The level of care we received was wonderful. Colonial cares for your pet like a person.. now isn’t that what you want for your baby?? Top notch service and care from genuinely nice people. Colonial will be our family vet for the foreseeable future.”
“They're always able to get you in when you need an appointment right away. Their staff is very friendly. The only thing I do not like is that you cannot go in the room with your pet. If that would ever change I would give them five stars for sure I think anyway the vets always seem nice but I'm used to being in the room with my dogs”
“We brought Rudy, our 18 year old mixed terrier to LB Animal Hospital yesterday for Euthanasia. It was very hard but the right decision. Everyone there was kind and caring and it went as well as possible . I am still crying but want to say that Dr Caroline Pawlowski and staff were wonderful.I know this isn’t the most important thing but the price was fair. “Seamus - our 11 year old Beagle mix - has been a patient of Holmdel Veterinary Clinic for over a decade. (We also have Hopper - our crazy kitty who we adopted from one of HVC's veterinary assistants.)
Seamus just had his senior check up today. Unfortunately, Dr. Sturla found an issue that require's a specialist's care, so I'm a bit nervous and anxious about putting my sweet boy in the care of someone I don't know. I just hope everything goes well. Seamus is FAMILY. My husband and I need our sweet old sugar-faced puppy to live a long, happy, healthy life.
One thing I can say with complete confidence is that Dr. Sturla and his entire team truly care about their patients. My dog hates vet visits, but the staff at HVC are always so calm and gentle with him. I appreciate that they try to make the experience as stress-free as possible. (For both of us.) I'm an annoying "dog mom" who worries about every little lump and bump - but the staff at Holmdel Veterinary Clinic is always patient and accommodating. They take the time to answer every question and address all of my concerns. I never feel rushed or ignored. I am so grateful I found a veterinary clinic with such great staff! Everyone at HVC is always so welcoming and they make a such a fuss over Seamus. (He's such a little rock star!) It melts my heart to see how much they care. The people at HVC are true animal lovers. I knew I'd found a kind, compassionate vet the time I caught a glimpse of Dr. Sturla kissing my boy on the head. It was a small, sweet gesture, but it meant so much to me. It's definitely something I'll always remember.

“Absolutely love this office! Started bringing both my dogs here in May 2022 after moving back to NJ from college. Dr.Scott is a wonderful man who always goes above and beyond in caring for your pet, as well as provides digestible information to help you make informed decisions about your pets health. This morning, my dog was not acting right and little silver was my first call. They got us in within the hour to see Dr.Izzo, another wonderful vet at this office. He did a very thorough exam of my dog and explained to me every step of the way. It was a wonderful experience and gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was in such great hands. The tech, I believe her name was Katie?, also took the time to make sure she entered the ordered tests as cheaply as possible (while they were very busy), which I really appreciated. She was also so wonderful during intake and the exam. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a vet that allows you to be present during an exam, provides you with all the information you need to keep your pet happy and healthy, as well as staffed with individuals who truly care about your pet...they're the best!!!”

I bought my cat in for an emergency visit on a Sunday and didn't have to wait too long to see a Dr. Unfortunately I found out some bad news and ended up having to say goodbye to my Franky, but the Dr was very compassionate and let me spend as much time as I needed with him. It was a sad day but they were great about it.”
