Michaels has become extremely expensive, and they are certainly not the store that I remember from years ago. They would be my last choice for anything I need in that category

I contacted their customer service about an item I ordered online after receiving a text notification that my item was picked up—even though I never went to the store to pick it up. At their store on Hooper Avenue in Toms River, NJ, they have shelves specifically for online orders, but anyone can walk in, take an item off the shelf, and leave without an associate checking the item or verifying the identity of the person picking it up. When I called the store, they told me that since I ordered online, I had to call the online customer service number. I spent over 30 minutes on hold waiting for a representative to answer—this is the worst customer service ever!!! I literally wasted over 30 minutes of my life for no answer after wasting 30 minutes trying to sort this out. What a nightmare for such a small order—never again! I wish there was a negative option. They don't even deserve one star!!!!

Framing department has the worst customer service. I was shocked at how we were treated. Will take our business elsewhere. W.O.W is all I can say. We ended up at Brick location where we were more than happy to pay for 2400.00 framing job.

I give praise when it's due but I'm NOT giving it for this Michael's locale. I placed an order online for a decorative bushel basket. The email receipt said I had until 9/22 to pick it up. I went on 9/20 only to find out they had canceled my order & given away my basket. They had no more in stock.
No one offered to call another location to ascertain if they had the baskets in stock. I myself called Manahawkin Michael's & received OUTSTANDING service there!

I don't care for the self check outs. Why don't they give you a discount for checking yourself out? They don't need as much staff so they can make more profit. What if I have a problem with a price? I have to wait until the one person who is working the cash registers is available after she rings up every one else! These stores are empty lately. Maybe their corporate will get a clue. Ya think? 🧐🤔

I have tried to like this store and found that in the last two years, it has steadily gone downhill. I gave it a chance to bounce back after the covid debacle... to no avail. The store is always out of stock where it used to be my go to. Help is lackluster and seems tired and depressed. Ugh! Hope it gets better for them.
