We applied for a home equity line of credit through Marsha at M&T in Tom’s River. After meeting with Marsha over the phone, and completing all our paper work we were told to wait on an appraisal. The appraisal was completed and we were told, via email that our home appraised for very little over what we had paid for it 15 months prior. Given the current market, we didn’t understand the low appraisal and emailed Marsha with questions hoping to clarify how the appraiser arrived at their number. We were ghosted. After 3 weeks, we completed an appraisal through another bank and it came in exactly where we expected it to. I’d give zero stars if I could. Don’t waste your time here.

My home mortgage unfortunately got transferred to MT bank, I am healthcare worker and send to different states to help with patient care, Somehow my online payment did not go thru, this bank has the worst mortgage service, they never bothered emailing Or calling me instead they report the late pay on my credit Report. Once I saw a letter I called customer service to pay over the phone but they will not take direct pay over the phone, IT has been a nightmare dealing with then. I asked if I can fedex the full amount and they told me they don't accept fedex. This company acts as if we are in THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. I would not recommend this bank for anything, they act like collection agency.

We had a death in the family but had to grit our teeth and deal with some banking issues. We thought it would be very difficult due to the circumstances. However, Jamie Gallagher helped us get through it with professional and personal courtesy and efficiency. It was a great experience. I highly recommend the bank and Jamie.

Horrible banking experience. Clayton the banker appeared to be confused on their own policy. He appeared to be a little rude also. I had to come to Bergen County to get my problem resolved. Never called me back and left me in the dark.
