This the worse bank on the planet. This branch in Toms River still uses ATM machines that you need to put your money and checks in an envelope like it's 1985. I came on a Monday at 12:30pm I was the only person on line to make a deposit because the ATM is from 1985. I was told to take a seat that I would be next. They had no tellers working. I felt I was in a time warp. Stay away from this bank. You are better off cashing your check the liquor store because you will need a drink after dealing with these people

I have had an account with NYCB in one form or another for years. It's an old fashioned and old person's bank but it's a stable bank. They have free checking which is fine but I have to go to this branch specifically to use the ATM otherwise they charge a fee to use any other ATM outside of their network, even just for an inquiry on an account balance.Citibank on the other hand does not charge a fee when I use the PNC bank ATM at my local Wawa. But they charge a maintenance fee under a certain balance or if you don't use direct deposit. So either way they get you.The bottom line is I choose to use this bank as my primary bank and everything else as secondary. Even if it means sacrificing convenience since I don't like like paying for services that should be free.

Don’t apply, trust it’s a terrible bank. It’s also a terrible bank to have an account with. They have so many fees. The managers think they own the bank and scream at you like they are your mother. Also a different manager on duty all the time and makes clients wait for the Branch Manager to come back to help you. I see no Men in these banks. So I wonder if they have something against hiring MEN??? The Branch/Regional Manager could careless about what happens in the bank to employees or the clients. They only cares about making the numbers for the bank. They have recently hired a new Female Teller(NEELA C.) WOW!!!!! I witnessed Neela YELL and when I say YELL I mean on the top of her lungs at customers. Neela said she couldn’t cash the check for the client in the drive-thru. She made the client come in and began to yell and Embarrass the client in the branch now. Instead of verifying the client in the computer to explain why she is saying no. So from what I heard Neela never looked to see if client was POA on account and guess what the CLIENT was 100% able to cash the check. Neela has no respect for customers, that I have witnessed since banking with them. Neela always forgets me and I have been helped by Neela at least 20 times. Maybe if she would stop writing in her book at her station about the supermarket list she could help the customers properly. I’m embarrassed to send my friends here due to not wanting them belittled as soon as they walk through the door by Neela. Just be careful when entering and being helped by Neela.

Bank has policies that are not favorable to it's customers. Quite simply there are things that are legal and commonly done at other banks which this bank refuses to do.
