I had a great experience. Made an appointment on line. Virtually checked in once I arrived. Waiting room as well as the lab tooand restrooms were clean. Was called back moments after checking in. Jill was my phlebotomist and she was nice and efficient.

Worst experience in a lab ever! The phlebotomist didn't want to do the blood work because the codes were for labcorp. The Quest Montclair office had no problem with this previously. She tried to get me to call the MD to rewrite the prescription then called in the supervisor who said why don't I just go to labcorp. I had a 24 hour urine with me and needed the bloodwork done. She noticed some urine from the sample leaked on the floor, got down on hands and knees to clean it with lysol and then attempted to draw my blood without changing her gloves. I insisted she change the gloves which she did with annoyance. Tossing my blood samples in the bin she said "your done". Some of the blood work she refused to do based on the unwillingness to decipher the codes. My MD appointment is next week so I'll see then what test she refused to conduct and follow up with the owner/main office at that time.

This place gets a one star because that's the minimum you could possibly get. I 'walked in' and let the staff know that I had a 'Stat' blood draw that needed to be drawn within a limited time frame and that, While I was 'walk-in', could I be seen even if a customer with an appointment came in...: 'No, no, no, no , walk-ins will get no priority" Uhhhh ok, in no mood to discuss further. Ok Fine. I'll wait. So I wait until there are no other customers and am called back. I go back to the blood draw area. The woman asks and I confirm my name and address and phone number. She never asks me for a photo ID. Then she asks for my insurance card... Well that's fine but I don't have the actual card because I just got my insurance the first of the month and the card hasn't arrived yet... Well I guess that means to this woman that you can't get any medical procedure any lab testing or anything done until she sees the card... Absolutely no help no alternative no ... nothing. I show her my insurance information: BIN#, PCN#, Group # ...everything. 'No,no,no .... There is so much identity theft ...we need to see the insurance card", ... but ... she hasn't asked me for any photo ID. I have a drivers license and US passport... The address matches the medical information on her screen the name matches the name on her screen I have two forms of photo ID...! One is a passport... 'No, no, we need to see your Insurance card! No, no,no ... seems to be about the extent of her problem-solving skills. At this point I'm about to blow my top... So I leave... Post haste... So what do I do? I go to the quest diagnostics three miles away or so.... It couldn't have been a more different scene. Very helpful staff, very willing to oblige, very willing to help me out. I show her my insurance information, it all checks out, blood draw in in the time frame needed, and I am out of there in 5 minutes..That's the store on River Mule Road ... go there ... very, very professional, helpful and accommodating.

Don’t waste your time doing business with Quest at this location. Use LabCorp down the street, instead. The staff at this Quest location are rude. They do not understand that the CUSTOMER pays their salaries, not their employer. Piss-poor service. A joke!

I used Quest Diagnostics Mule Road Toms River. I am there probably more than three or four times a month. My veins are quite small and hard to find. I requested the girl use a butterfly needle as that's what the other techs usually use on me. I was told she could not as they save the butterfly needles for babies. I am very disappointed at the way it was handled first of all she put the large needle in and couldn't find the vein and went digging around and finally had to call another tech in who I told her my veins were difficult to find and she immediately use a butterfly needle. I really think all technician should be trained to listen to the patient.

I made an appointment yesterday, arrived about 5 minutes early. There were about 4 people seated in the waiting room, two waiting outside, and two in line to check in ahead of me. It was simple to use the kiosk to check in. I went back outside and within 10 minutes they texted me to come back in. They took me almost immediately. Unfortunately, they did not have my orders in the system (not their fault because the orders were from out of state). The phlebotomist said I could call my doctor to have it faxed over; however, it was before that office was opened. Later, I called the doctor and had the orders faxed. I decided to go back today as a “walk in” and arrived at 6:15am. I was second in line but when they opened at 6:30 I became 4th because of two appointments. I checked back in with the kiosk and was in the phlebotomy room within 10 minutes of walking through the door. Jan, the phlebotomist was very friendly and efficient. She had to decipher the faxed paperwork that had duplicate testing requests; had to enter my insurance information; and had to change my address but did this all quickly and with a very pleasant attitude. She did a great job with the blood draw and I was on my way in no time. I will definitely go there again for future testing and will plan to either make an appointment or walk in first thing in the morning.
