While the Stop & Shop on Route 37 in Toms River offers convenience, it often falls short of providing competitive prices compared to other grocery chains. Although sales are frequent, the everyday pricing can be steep for those on a tight budget.
The interior of this location feels outdated and could greatly benefit from more renovations focused on the inside, especially given the emphasis on exterior updates in the past.
Customer service is inconsistent. While some staff members are attentive and go the extra mile, others appear disengaged, which can negatively impact the shopping experience. At times, personal attitudes and issues among employees seem to affect interactions with customers.
Cleanliness is a persistent issue at this store, with dirty ceilings and floors that have been neglected for years. Additionally, some aisles deliver mild electric shocks, a problem that has gone unresolved despite its long-standing presence. The store relies on an automated robot to alert staff of spills, but its intrusive design—with 360-degree imaging sensors—raises concerns about potential surveillance, even though this would likely be denied.

Some might say it's expensive, however I am here to give you a honest review.
Yes some items are expensive but I am here to say there are so many items you actually have a good selection to choose. So if you shop for home then this is the place you want to go to.

The staff at this place is exceptional! They are incredibly respectful, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. Whenever I have a question or need further education, they are eager to assist and teach me exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you so much! I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday with my reusable bag. (Update.... bring back plastic bags)

The store is very clean and the staff is very helpful. The online shoppers are great too. Sean, was one of the online shoppers that was very polite and helpful!

Helpful staff, good selection of products at fair prices.
Pharmacy Department is great also.

They have better produce,meat,and fish than our local Shop Rite... they have some things higher prices but do have some decent sales... deli is good . Bakery is good...

The don't charge the electric chair's,food is unorganized and out of date,the bathroom's are a pigsty, and some of the people on the register's are down right rude incoherent and inconsiderate someone from Corporate needs to straighten out that store it's like the Black hole of Calcutta oh forgive me I mean Tom's River ,NJ

I highly recommend this grocery store. It is fully stocked and the produce is fresh. They remodeled it so it’s updated and has everything you need. Yes it’s a little bit more money than their competitors , but you know what for a little extra expense you’re getting your peace of mind and time back. It’s because also the workers are efficient as well.
