I purchased a vehicle from AutoMall 46 Inc also known as Route46 Nissan in Totowa, NJ on October 17, 2024. The vehicle was listed on CARFAX for approx. $23K pre certified and was financed to me for a total of $31k. My compliant is for fraud due to deception in sale price and undisclosed additonal fee for a “pre certified vehicle”. I later learned from Nissan consumer affairs that the 23K listed CARFAX price already included a pre certified warranty at no additional cost. Yet I was charged an additional $3-4K for this warranty increasing the total vehicle sale price to $27K (minus taxes/registration fees… etc.) totaling a $31K sales price.
The so called pre certification warranty charge (as told to me by the sales representative) included full engine repairs needed up until 100K miles for up to 7 years (or which ever came first). Just to clarify this is not an extended warranty. This verbiage and warranty already exists with the vehicle purchase priced at $23k advertised. Yet, I was deceived into purchasing the vehicle at $27K for this additional warranty (referring to repairs up to 100k miles for 7 years). I cannot stress this fact enough because it is mind blowing they are so deceptive with claiming this an additional cost to the vehicle sale price. Buyers beware!!!!
Another clarification, an extended warranty would have cost additional not a pre certified vehicle warranty as per Nissan consumer affairs.
Later (meaning recently) I found out this pre certified warranty could not be cancelled like most extended warranties because it’s not an extended warranty but rather comes with the purchase vehicle price.
I visited the dealership today (2/18/2025) to discuss my concerns and was offered no reasonable explanation aside from them claiming this information was told to me at contract signing. I emphasized this information was not disclosed and had I known the pre certification of this vehicle was included in the advertised priced of $23K I would had declined to pay the additional cost for a warranty already provided with a pre certified vehicle.
I am now perusing legal actions to resolve this matter. In addition to sharing my story with fellow buyer to warn others of this dealership tactics.
I was deceived by a sales representative named Ramon Davis and a finance manager named Skyler (in additonal to another finance rep I do not remember) at the time of negotiations.
I feel gullible to admit I was taken advantage of due to my lack of knowledge on pre certified vehicles and what constitutes an extended warranty. Therefore I am filing an FTC complaint for the undisclosed amount due to laws that protects consumers against fraud.
Please purchase wisely at your next dealership visit.

If I can give 0, i would. Spoke to some manager named Ken or whatever his name was. I made an appointment with sales to come and purchase a specific vehicle, only for them to call me and tell me another manager has possession of the vehicle and won't be able to do a sale today, come another day. I took off of work to get this transaction done, called my insurance, and then have the manager scream at me over the phone that it's not his problem, it's mine. Disgusting person. Don't do business here. They don't value your time.

All internet advertised cars are a bait and switch , you must buy a $4k warranty on the car to get the internet price. Waste of time.

I went to Route 46 to purchase a used vehicle I saw online. I drove about 90 minutes as it seemed like a good deal. When I got there, there was quite a bit of markup on it and I wasn’t happy. The sales people worked with me and gave me a great deal. I left with the vehicle.
The next part I wasn’t so happy with. I don’t know much about cars so didn’t know how to check it well. I took it back home to PA and failed inspection. I called probably 8-10 times and emailed another 3. No one was helping or responding. At this point I figured I was going to have to eat the $1100 necessary fixes. While waiting at the garage while getting it necessary items, I was irate and called the dealership again. This time I told them I just need to talk to the highest up person possible - I again was sent to a voicemail of “Jamie”. I figured like all the other calls, it would go unreturned. Jamie called me back within 5 minutes from her cell phone. I explained the situation and she was very understanding. She asked me to send her the emails I had sent as well as a copy of the garage bill. She said they guarantee their vehicles to pass inspection. After it was finished, she mailed me a check for the full amount of the bill, including the inspection fees, more than I was even expecting.
You can go here and deal with confidence knowing their upper management has your back (even if the direct employees are unreachable after sale). If you have any issues at any of their brands, call and ask for Jamie - she will make it right and in an expedited manner. Every dealership should have a “Jamie” that cares about the customers and gets things done swiftly!
The car is now fantastic and I couldn’t be happier.

Buyer beware these guys are shysters. Do not trust them any further than you can throw them. They do not conduct business in an honest manner at all. They engage in fraudulent advertising by pricing vehicles at a low price, which they call the internet price, in order to get the consumer into the dealership. Then they hike the price up $4000.00. When you point out their deceptive and fraudulent practices and threaten to hire a lawyer and file a claim against them. They agree to sell the vehicle at the original advertised price over the phone. When you go back to the dealership, they advise you that the internet price went up the day before. You argue with them and they say that they are going to sell the vehicle at the first price that was listed, however they don't. They slip the $4000.00 increased price on the contract instead.

Like so many others, Route 46 Nissan pulled a bait & switch on me. After wasting my time going there and taking a test drive, I was told they could not sell me a car at the price advertised (on Kelley Blue Book) without buying a $4,000 extended warranty or financing it. Someone was supposed to call me the next day to see if a deal could be approved without those stipulations. After two days, I emailed and received a call saying they could knock only $500 off the warranty (in person, half was mentioned). No thanks.Kris M - this is EXACTLY how you do business. I should have just read the poor reviews here before going there...

This dealership manager is big disappointment and liar. They advertised the car at $43995. However when I was about to start the finance application. Manager said I have to buy dealer options such as extended warranty or he can't sell the car. Which was about 4k. Totally bait and switch. Dishonest dealership! Crooks! Rick the sales guy was nice but he lost a sale due to greedy manager! I can not recommend this dealership to anyone! Run run run away!
