Hours: The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen is an absolute great organization for the people, feeding the hungry and offering programs and services to encourage self-sufficiency. They began serving meals 42 years ago and have never turned away anyone who has asked for a meal. Today, they deliver over 10,000 meals each week, six days per week, at their main building and more than 40 community meal sites across the area, including a convenient mobile food truck with multiple locations Monday through Friday. They run a well-oiled machine with a great program to help the community, from meals to amazing resources. The regular staff and vigilant leadership run the place with smooth precision and are very good people with kindness, warm smiles, and a funny, kind-hearted nature. They serve with great love, no matter your race, and have the love of God in their hearts. Volunteers find it amazing to do God's work and give back to the community through a lot of teamwork during shifts, often from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Tasks are varied and organized, from preparing utensils to organizing food and serving as food runners to efficiently transport delicious meals. The operation is orderly and well-structured, a testament to the dedication of the crew. The place is a beacon of hope, with art on the walls showcasing community creativity. It is a mission of compassion that builds up the community, one tray at a time, empowering those served to thrive, not just survive.
