Outstanding! My children (11 and 7) loved all the hands on exhibits- especially the typewriter and the sand boxes. This whole site is an absolute treasure for education and preservation. Having a replica of the lighthouse is such a special treat. It's clear that a lot of heart and soul went into curating each exhibit on the property. Having the games, crafts, and admission included in the cost for the boat tour was a godsend for a family on a budget. My kids loved every aspect of our adventure and didn't want to leave when it was time to go. All of the Halloween touches were so much fun!! This was our first visit and we all fell in love with the seaport so we'll definitely be back!

Wonderful experience. We took the ferry to Beach Haven & back on Labor Day weekend with family from out of state. Fun & interesting things learned from the guides, inexpensive gift shop with a small historical museum. Will definitely do it again. Expect some bay water splashes crossing the bay. It was the end of August and we all benefited from having a cover-up on the afternoon trip back to Tuckerton.

We visited with friends and thoroughly enjoyed touring the museum and walking around the outside history tour (on the museum grounds). The material was well-laid out and engaging. Of special note was how they had things for kids to do - ways for them to engage with the exhibits - while the adults read more of the info (coloring page, typewriter to try, etc). We also enjoyed going up to the top of the lighthouse and looking out over the area. Would highly recommend.

We took our two grandkids 5 and six, and they loved it. We spent about 2 hours there and could have stayed longer but they were closing. This place is very educational with plenty of hands-on experiences. The staff there was amazing. They went above and beyond to put smiles on our boys faces. If you want to go in the lighthouse, it's 5 dollars each, but everything else is free. They do accept donations. I highly recommend this attraction.

We wanted information, however the parking lot is at the top of the hill and information is located at the Lighthouse at the bottom of the hill. At the gate no one was there but we could see several buildings quite far apart. We're older and don't walk so good, therefore we decided to leave. We did talk to a group walking around and they claimed to have a Great time. They were much younger than us.

Pleasantly surprised by all the cool shops and out buildings turned museums! I was expecting to just visit a lighthouse but got to see all kinds of cool things like a decoy carving shop, a surfing museum and a steampunk tea house! This should definitely be a place to visit if you like touring lighthouses and would like to learn more about the past in this area of NJ.

Like to go & see this next summer! Love ferry rides! Looks beautiful.. it gets minus one star for the ridiculous $2.50 increase??♂️? that’s a lot! That’s a hike of 20% Now if someone wants to tell me that it’s been $12.50 for say 10 years …then that’s not as bad. but I doubt it..Man businesses in this country are just trying to push us towards a recession! Soon or later people gonna run out of credit cards to use(Credit card debt at an all time high) and there’s gonna be a recession in this country like we’ve never seen if these hikes in prices keep up! Rant over! Lol I am one person, so 15 bucks won’t kill me one time…just imagine a family of five? If I make it here next summer.. I’ll let you know how the ferry ride was ?❤️

They were doing renovations and still took time to show us pictures. The wonderful lady in the gift store has been there 14 years. She gave us special attention and related events impressive in the day.

Such a great little tourist shore area! Historical fishing buildings, mini golf, sheep, goats,a great restaurant but skip the trail through the woods!Me being brought up around this area I knew not to go on this trail because a trail in the woods near the bay is never a good idea.My husband talking me into going through with him and let's just say he owes me a pair of sneakers and thank goodness we didn't bring any insects home with us. They have food truck events, something for the kids during Halloween and boat tours that are always a good time!

We took the ferry to LBI on a Sunday. We reserved our tickets several days in advance and arrived early to check in. There was a restroom in the building before departure and games and sites to entertain us. The ride was so pleasant. As we slowly chugged the first 25 minutes through the river, there was a very informative ecology presentation. Then we crossed the bay at high speed for about 20 minutes and docked. On the way back we were given info about the history of the area. We took our almost 6 year old who thoroughly enjoyed it and the changes in environment kept her interested the whole hour. We came back on the 7 pm and the sea port was closed. However, we excited to learn more about the area and returned the next day to visit the museum. Our daughter had a great time doing the scavenger hunt and seeing all the recreations.
