We have been customers for years at this branch- it is closer than it's previous location.As we approached one of the small offices to ask about a new account- the young woman said, " I hope you have a copy of a Utility bill with you" - we were caught completely off guard' told her we were already customers of bank'--she didn"t care. Said something about "outside of state customers" - Manager in nextdoor office waved me away-' too busy on computer. decided to close an account there- went over to Teller--- and she proceeded to give us a Check- WITHOUT EVEN ASKING US FOR ANY ID, AT ALL!! (never spoke to her any other time!! ) Something has definitely changed there, very Poor Service now!!

After hours Virtual teller was nice but there were no pens , at least have one attached to the table. I don’t like how the phone has to be used to conduct business, it should be a speaker there instead. Who wants to touch anything during COVID?

This is bank isn’t one of the biggest but the thing I like about it is that the people that work there are so sweet and they remember you. Today I had to have something fixed on my account and Ryan took care of me. He was so nice and accommodating he made me feel like I was a friend not just a customer! He isn’t the only one over there that has been like this with me, the bank manager is fantastic too! Thank you guys!

I have been with this bank for over 10 years and the last 4 years are just horrible my branch in union got a new branch manager and he is a horrible person.Previous branch manager Eugene used to make us feel at home it was a good bank because management is a joke stay away from the bald branch manager horrible customer service.The quality of the bank went down with home and it’s a shame .

....I am without money for next 4 days because Spencer Savings thought a $25 Etsy charge was fraud since it was out of state charge. The fraud department called me and I spoke to a women with a very heavy accent I could not understand. This led to me saying "yes" when asked if it was fraud because I thought she said "do you have your card?". My card is now FROZEN FOREVER! I cannot even open another bank account right now because of them. I am without money for food and gas until the banks reopen on Tuesday. This is not the first time they haven't frozen my card for smaller, usual charges, but IT IS THE LAST. I would rather stuff my money in my own mattress than give it to Spencer Savings Bank. If I had the money (or actually any money at this very moment), I would be taking legal action or, at the very least, buying the biggest bill board in New Jersey to warn people against this excuse for a bank. If you did not read my whole review let me sum it up- GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!

There aren't any banks other than Spencer. Barbara and Sandy, in the Union office, are immensely helpful whenever you need something. The tellers are friendly and will accommodate all your banking needs. While other banks made bad investments, Spencer didn't and is probably one of the most solvent banks in NJ. They offer a full line of banking services and deserve your business too.

Opened a savings account and checking account with no problems and I don't have any problems with on line banking. In addition to opening these accounts, I have a Spencer Kids Account for my granddaughter. All tellers and bank reps have always been pleasant during my visits.
