I recently visited Tom Harris jewelers to have him shorten a necklace into an ankle bracelet. Tom was pleasant and accepted the work, saying that it would be ready within a week, and to bring cash on the pick up date. I was excited to retrieve my new reworked piece of jewelry, as I really loved the necklace, but needed an ankle bracelet, hence I made the sacrifice. It was about four hours after wearing the anklet for the first time that it burst open while I was in the shower and all of the beads, except a few, slid down the drain. I brought the chain back to Tom the next day, and was naturally upset that I spent a decent amount of cash to have the item fixed, and now I had nothing to show for it. I requested a refund and was told "there are no guarantees". If it had been a month or two later, and I was Wearing the anklet daily, he may have had a case that there was too much wear and tear. It was a perfectly good necklace, and after he reworked it into an ankle bracelet. It broke right away. He would not take any responsibility nor refund my cash. Since I did not use a charge card, I had no recourse and left the shop very distraught. Tom's attitude was not professional or cordial. It was he who suggested I could even post a review on yelp. I have never reviewed on yelp, or any other site, but feel the community and public should be wary and find a more accommodating jeweler when they need items of value fixed. It's a principle thing with me. I lost my possession and also money. Which was the least of it. Most savvy business owners know, reputation and customer satisfaction is important. Evidently not to this guy.

I have been a customer of Tom Harris Jeweler since moving to Ventnor in 2007. Tom and Carol Harris represent the many hard working small family-owned business at the Jersey Shore and hands down they are the best at what they do. Tom is truly gifted as a jeweler creating beautiful hand-made original pieces at his customers' requests. Carol knows her stuff and provides the best customer service and individual attention to each and every customer. I have purchased many pieces from them--rings, necklaces, bracelets and have never not been satisfied. In fact, I have referred friends and family to them and they too have purchased jewelry from Tom Harris--again, all satisfied customers. It's sad to see a few unhappy customers write such mean-spirited reviews when I know these two people are hard working and care about each and every customer being happy with their purchases. I've been in their shop to say hello and have seen firsthand how they greet others who come by and shop; it's a genuine welcoming atmosphere. I recently bought a pair of earrings and I've worn them every day since and have received numerous compliments. I can't imagine the last review about poor quality when I've never had an issue with any of the jewelry I've purchased from Tom Harris. If you're looking for something for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend shopping at Tom Harris Jeweler!

I love this place. They do everything, jewelry wise. Tom and his wife Carol are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet. I got my watched fixed, bought a beautiful necklace and bracelet, had another bracelet fixed for only $200. That is a huge savings. Definitely visit there if your in town!!

So blessed to be here on this planet and have a breath in my body and a beat in my heart to express the Gratitude and Thankfulness in My old, but still young Looking Family Jeweler Tom Harris. I have known Mr. Harris for over 25 years and growing up with his business providing love and genuine interest in family gifts and special occasions, to maintenance on family heirlooms, and even new creations, I and My family especially my Grandma Sandy M.-J. May she Rest in Paradise can vouch that this man is an all around stand up Man and a true Link in the fabric of this Great city of Ventnor. Recently I was in again which at first did bring back many memories of walking in as a child with my older generation of family who have all passed on now and I will not lie, I CRIED and I hurt and I remembered the loss and the pain but immediately through Mr. Harris's cool calm and collected demeanor I was put to ease knowing that the man I was in front of truly felt my loss and also acknowledged it and didn't hide from it but consoled me and remembered my Grandma with me all the while making me smile and laugh at the truth of the matter and that was we were in the midst of a new stage of life and for the meeting alone she would surely APPROVE. I also lost a young brother a few years back and was able to easily find something with Mr. Harris to compliment the medallion I had because he genuinely cared in seeing to it that my brother was honored. I Can never explain enough how grateful I am that Mr. HARRIS AND his BEAUTIFUL wife Mrs. HARRIS WHO IS A SCHOLAR AND A True Open Minded Breath of Fresh air, how absolutely blessed we are to have them here in this town.MAY WE ALWAYS PAY HOMAGE TO OUR LOVED ONES AND THE ONES WHO MAKE THE WORLD GO ROUND...WITH LOVE...WITH JOY...WITH PEACE....Namasté and Love True Blessings to all these Holidays and May the new year bring Prosperous Joyous New Adventure

Called for a price quote for a pin for my watchband. Womn who answered the phone told me $10. Great. Went there, had a great conversation, told her ( her husband was doing the repair) I had some gold items from my late mother that I would like to design something more functional. All good. Watch gets fixed. Husband tells me it is $20. I told him your wife told me $10 over the phone..his response was " He had to make the pin for the watch." Really? make a pin? I call BS and sad for them I will NEVER go back and NEVER bring the $10,000 or so worth of gold that I was discussing. Wow. Talk about shortsighted. Enjoy the extra $10

I discovered Tom Harris Jeweler when I lived in Ventnor, NJ in 2013. When I met Tom and Carol, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t stopped in to visit their shop years earlier. Their customer service is beyond expectations and the quality of jewelry is impeccable! Over the years, I’ve collected beautiful necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, have had jewelry repaired and even had a custom ring made as a gift. I have been lucky enough to be gifted many of their signature pieces and have been so pleased with everything I’ve purchased or received. I highly recommend you check out Tom Harris Jeweler!

I first. Used Kenya Gem Co. Over 30yrs ago. This company is unbelievable. The first thing and I was negative. I was certain this man could not do what he claimed ,but if he did ....well HE DID. He replicated my grandmother's 3 carat emerald cut ring with matching band. The prongs were far from standard. They were beautiful alone. And the baguette were cut almost football shaped .but they took had no visible carbon. Well the ring was identical. Oh, he e only had a couple pictures and a few calls from me. This ring was amazing then it was under 500 bucks.

I took a very sentimental necklace to Tom to be restrung. The necklace was composed of sizable pieces of Amethyst and Citrine. I knew I shouldn't have left it with him when he removed the pieces from the cloth bag in which I brought them in and took out a paper bag and plopped each stone in the bag. I told him that I couldn't believe he was throwing the stones against one another. Tom said, "I'm a master jeweler for 50 years. I know what I'm doing." I picked up the necklace today and, of course, there are chips in the stones. And...he didn't even wipe off the necklace. It's still got his fingerprints all over it. Disgusting. After this, I wouldn't bring him a dime store necklace to fix. His wife is very nice. It's a shame.
