About Appalachian Hotel
The Appalachian Hotel offers a spectacular location in any season, right by a mountain with ski slopes, bike trails, and hiking, including a trail up to Vernon Peak. Many guests have been coming for years for the convenience and the access to downhill biking and snowboarding. It is considered the best bang for your buck in a wide area. The atmosphere is fun with a pool, a bar open late, and a Biergarten with an affordable, massive breakfast burrito right around the corner. A little German breakfast place next door is also praised for its prices and food. The rooms receive mixed reviews. They are described as spacious, with some units having fireplaces, but many are noted as being a bit dated and worn, with some having torn carpet or little airflow. Renovations are understood to be in progress, and renovated rooms are available though a little pricey. Service experiences vary, with some staff being super friendly and willing to go the extra mile, while others were not very helpful. Some minor issues, like limited breakfast options or undrinkable tap water, are noted, but the overall experience for many is positive, with the hotel described as the perfect place for a family into adventure.
I have been staying here for years both booking direct and air bnb. Mostly airbnb. I only minus a star because we miss the arcade. This is the best bang for your buck in a 1 1/2 hr drive from Central

We rented a lovely condo. Hotel was beautiful. Landscaping was great. The facilities were perfect.

Excellent hotel with pool/hot tub/sauna and an underground garage. Beautiful scenery.
