“I am not your easy to fit, or easy to please customer when it comes to finding a formal comfortable dress. Thus, I was more than pleasantly surprised when I was in and out of The Pink Orchid Shop in half an hour.
To say I was pleased is an understatement. Lara was ‘spot on’ knowing the style that looked best on me. Not in the least pressuring, rather easy going, supportive, understanding and with beautiful taste.
“Try this on, looks better than on hanger “ and in quick agreement, no pushing, “no, not for you”… the next dress suggestion, I hesitantly tried, yet, felt years younger and even, might I say ‘attractive! Even the price was attractive!
The clincher was the gown that I tried on for my granddaughter’s wedding! Oh my goodness, so pretty, just my style, so comfortable, elegant, all rolled into one! And Lara had the seamstress right there with a smile and the know how to help the small size fit on my body.
All in all , shopping there today was a positive experience! How many ppl can say that?? The dressing rooms were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, Lara was a pleasure to shop with and to guide with her expertise and flair for fashion.

“I wish you had more selection of men’s cargo pants. It took my husband 2 hours to find cargo pants with pockets on the side. When finally found the! There were only 2 pair in his size.”

The one style of Latin dancing shoes that can fit me well from this store feel like sneakers compared to the other brands I have tried. Come ready to look through lots of clothes, if you love shopping but online shopping is your thing then this might not be for you. Heads up parking is limited.”

“Excellent store, excellent customer service! Visited the Wayne store, had to make some returns from both online and in-store purchases. Joe in the customer service area was fantastic. Joe went above and beyond, had a great attitude and is a great ambassador of the Kohl’s brand. The others working behind the counter were also very congenial and efficient. They all seemed to enjoy working with each other..
The kicker was after I made my returns, I did some shopping and as I was approaching checkout, deciding whether to do self-checkout or not, Joe remembered my first name and called me over to quickly check out at his register.
As many other retail stores have abysmal customer service, this was a great shopping experience.”

“Looking at the reviews before mine, it sure seems like this shop has provided some mixed experiences. I did not know about this shop until very recently (I only went to Maplewood for the first time a few months ago). Before talking about the shop itself, I will say that during my recent visit the staff was very nice (this included two young women and one older one - possibly the owner?). I overheard them having several conversations with customers and they all seemed very familiar and friendly. Of course, this is just my experience, so take that as you will. No. 165 (so named for the building number) is an absolutely adorable, comfortable and whimsical shop in Maplewood. They sell all sorts of items ranging from novelty items, candy, clothes, stationary, dish towels, purses, soaps and more. Everything in the shop is either meant to be charming, beautiful or tongue-in-cheek and I love that combination. Interestingly, I saw a note on the counter that indicated at some point last year this shop was going to close, but a strong reaction from the neighborhood helped the owner to change their mind and keep the shop open. What that meant on a practical level is that during my visit a lot of the shelves were definitely more bare than I think they would normally be. This decision is recent, so I am hoping that means in the next couple months the store will restock and have more to offer than it already has. If you're in the area, definitely make it a point to visit No. 165!”
