Our son has been suffering from ADHD and behavioral issues ever since we could remember. As soon as he started Kindergarten we were getting calls at least 2 to 3 times a week about focusing issues and listening problems. Not to mention the behavioral problems he was encountering. We were doing everything we could to be good parents and raise him right and it still seemed as if we just weren't doing enough. When he reached 3rd grade we finally decided to put him on ADHD medicine to see if that would help with his ability to focus and sit still during class. The medicine helped a bit but we were still having problems with behavior and really him being empathic to his friends and understanding how to interact with his classmates. As a parent it was very hard to watch because you could see that his friends were starting to distance themselves from him and the parents didn't want their kid hanging out with "that kid". Our son would also do things in the home that would make you scratch your head. My husband and I thought he was being manipulative to get what he wanted. We would tell him he couldn't have or do something and he would somehow find a lupole to end up getting what he wanted and the crazy thing is it was almost like we couldn't get upset with him because he had found a different avenue without doing what he had gotten in trouble for to begin with. The best example I can give which I also gave to Brain Balance was:Our son went down the street to do a lemonade stand with his friends and I told him that it was fine as long as there was adult present. Long story short there was no adult and he was in the middle of a busy road with a sign basically waiting to be ran over. We said to him we weren't upset about the lemonade stand just that he was in the middle of the street with no supervision. The next day my husband and I went to a party and got a picture from the sitter with him having an Apple Cider stand in our front yard with her watching him from the front porch. To us this was a shock because he had just gotten in trouble the day before. When I explained this to Cushla and Mike they knew right away that my son was very Left Brain Strong. They did an entire 1 1/2 hour assessment on him which is more like games and actives for him. Mike went through all of his results and made a tailored program that they believed would help strengthen his right brain. This would allow him to understand personal space, empathy, social cues from his peers and others, and to overall help him to slow down and focus. My husband was a bit skeptical at first. I mean we were on the verge of sending him to a boarding school. His program wasn't as long as some of the other children but I have to say that I couldn't be happier that we put our son through this program. He was changing right before our eyes. It started with small things like making eye contact and saying sorry. He was showing remorse and empathy without having to be prompted to. The biggest sign of him gaining emotions was when his Pee Wee team won the Super Bowl. My son was breaking down in tears he was so happy. It was the most incredible thing I'd ever seen. His teacher started seeing a major change in him and his behavior and just how he interacted with the other students. We wanted to make sure the school had open lines of communication with his teacher and school. I stopped getting "incident" calls from the principals and the school counselor. He has seriously made a 180 and I am so blessed for this team and the program. My husband and I can't stop bragging about the changes we've seen and how great this place is. Our son loves this place so much he wants to come once or twice a week to help the other kid's with their home exercises. It has taught him how to be a leader and to understand how other's feel and personal space. I could go on and on about all the differences we have seen both in the class and at home.Thank you Brain Balance!

My 9 year old son has seen a turnaround in many aspects of his development. We completed 6 months in the program in June and continue to see the benefits. Most importantly, we as a family have learned how we can ensure that my son continues to make progress. The personal coaches and staff at the Allendale center were very closely involved in working with my son and our family to ensure that he can gain the most from his time in the program. The commitment to the Brain Balance program has been the best investment I could have made in shaping my son’s future.

Brain Balance changed our son's life. He is now able to enjoy his life as a child and he is no longer pointed as the distracted child, the one that does not want to play with others, the one that cries for everything, the one that has tantrums over transitions, the one that refuses to play with a ball, the one that does not understand social cues, etc. It opened our eyes in many ways, we learned better ways to communicate with him and he gained the tools to understand his body better and to communicate back. We all improved our diet and now we try to make informed choices regarding what we put in our bodies. Too many positive things to list. We are thankful we found this place, they believed in our child and helped us help him.

As a result of the Allendale Brain Balance program, the support and care of the great staff, our son, who has a reading/language disorder, recently achieved a 3.12 GPA his senior year in high school. He has been accepted into two four year institutions, one offering a merit tuition scholarship. The Allendale team is more than that, they are a part of the family and a huge reason our son has been able to achieve academic success. I am glad to share this story with anyone--there is hope for our children who see and access the world differently.

I contacted Brain Balance before my Son was even 4 years old.The lady I spoke with assured me every thing I research about their program was indeed something my Son can benefit from. The only thing that kept me from moving forward was his age. That was two years before his fourth birthday. On September 23 the day before his birthday I schedule my appointment to meet with them. Both my husband and myself attended. It was the best decision we made. Its been four months now and Ezekiel my Son who would never say words or form sentences or even say Mommy or Daddy is now doing behaviours that I was told he will never do .His journey is not over its the beginning. But I have to say Allendale Brain Balance Team is the best set of Professionals that not only enjoy their professions but they love each child that they come in contact with.Again Thank you Team of Allendale for helping my Son Ezekiel.

My grandson was diagnosed with ADHD when he was just over 4 yrs old. He had severe behavioral issues which in turn hindered his ability to make friends but also created repeated issues with other children when he attended daycare and then public school. He was in constant motion, could not focus, could not read, resisted doing his homework and was doing poorly in school. We tried traditional medicine and therapy with no success. I was searching for a holistic program when I found Brain Balance. Now my grandson is 4 visits away from completing his course. Here are the amazing results we have seen so far;-he went from not reading at all to reading for an hour to an hour and a half at a time, which in turn has affected his grades at school. He now consistently scores in the 90-100 range on all his assignments.- he shows empathy.... which was not an emotion he had ever shown before.- he has lost most of his quirky behaviors and his fidgeting- he connects to the kids in his class at school and has several friends- his ability to comprehend what he is hearing or experiencing has increased incredibly- he has fewer spells of extreme hyperactivityBased on the results I have seen I would not hesitate to recommend this program to other parents who are looking to help their children develop past their spectrum disorder. The results are long lasting and will change the quality of life for not only the child but the entire family.Brain Balance of Allendale has the most wonderful staff. I couldn't be happier with our experience with them.

I am writing this review to share the amazing experience that our daughter, Katey, had at the Brain Balance Center in Allendale, NJ. Katey is typical kid - she's happy, intelligent, articulate and social. But starting in kindergarten, Katey began to show signs of a focusing issue. We sought out a diagnos but all neurological assessments came back normal. Last year, Katey also started experiencing anxiety both in school and at home, and it escalated to a point that was very concerning for us. We tried to get help from her school and pediatrician, but since there was no specific diagnosis, we were left with very little to go on. Luckily, at that point, we found our way to the team at the Brain Balance Center in Allendale. After going through their thorough assessment process, we decided to enrolled Katey and that started us on our amazing journey of understanding how her brain works, where it needed to be strengthened, and how to very specifically help her. Katey loved the program and thrived from the motivation she received from her team. Now, 6 months later, I am happy to report that we had our first conference with Katey's 5th grade teacher yesterday and he said she's doing beautifully both academically and socially. He sees her as articulate, organized, she did great on her first big math test and her writing skills are off the charts. She seems happy, engaged and he hasn't seen any of the focusing issues that teachers have seen in the past. He thinks she will be in great shape for middle school next year. We completely attribute this to the wonderful experience Katey had at Brain Balance. We can't thank them enough for helping Katey in so many ways. I would absolutely recommend the Brain Balance Center in Allendale to anyone looking to help their child in the same way that we wanted to help our Katey.
