For someone wanting to hire craftsmen to remodel a bathroom for the first time, I felt a bit overwhelmed. There were lots of decisions to be made about tiling, vanities, sinks, overall design philosophy.
Fortunately, Billy, Gianna and the crew were elite at settling down my worries. We took it a step at a time and they were able to accommodate some of my limitations, such as me not being able to pickup up my bathtub, vanity and toilet with my small car. They took time to arrange a pickup on my behalf even though the project was not to start for a couple of weeks. Now that's looking after the customer!
Once the demo started, it was a very smooth process. I felt like I was briefed/consulted every step of the way and other specific experts such as the sheetrock and glass contractor got involved to put it all together. On a personal note, it made me admire even more the meticulous process of remodeling any interior room, much less a bathroom as well as the versatility and know-how necessary to tile, make the plumbing and electrical work, all while adhering to what the client wants. It's hard work and no doubt took many years and experience to get to this point of expertise. As someone who floated the idea of DIY-ing certain aspects, I can look back and know that it was 100% worth it to hire professionals that know what they're doing.

If you’re reading this review, then you’re probably doing your due diligence in screening potential contractors. Your search will most likely start with those companies that have a website, strong social media presence, along with favorable reviews. Do yourself a favor and add Five Star Finish to your list. I don’t need to tell you to select them, you’ll most likely come to that conclusion on your own.
We called about 8 contractors,…only four of them actually showed up. While most had an extensive body of work, along with years of being in business, …only ONE was able to say he would be onsite each day doing and leading the work. That was Billy from Five Star Finish. By the time Billy completed his initial visit and assessment, we knew we were going to hire him. Why?
Here are the reasons:
- He showed up promptly at the time he committed to.
- While many others boast about their knowledge and experience, Billy’s expertise and know-how was evident by the observations he pointed out, and suggestions he provided.
- He was upfront and honest, by stating his proposal would most likely not be the cheapest. All of the work would be done by him and his two brothers. Billy, Eric, & Mike are all experienced tradesmen. Meaning none of his crew needs instruction or supervision. The work gets done correctly and efficiently.
- He promised he’d send his proposal within 24 hours and he was true to his word.
Five Star Finish just completed our full first floor remodeling project, which included a kitchen and full bath. My wife and I have heard the horror stories from many homeowners who had to deal with disingenuous contractors who go missing for days on end, or deliver shoddy work. We feel extremely fortunate that we “got it right” by selecting Billy and his team. He said what he would do, and he did what he said. He’s as genuine as they come. And his work speaks for itself, as you can see from our photos. We still have a couple of additional home improvement projects on our list, …when we’re ready we will ONLY call Billy!

Billy and his team completely transformed a wasted space in our house into a beautiful half bath. From the moment we first spoke to the final touches, Five Star Finish was always professional, communicative, and brought the highest level of craftsmanship. We were impressed by their quality of work and expertise in working with various challenges. Not only did they do a fantastic job on the half bath, but we also used them to update our sunroom and exterior door. We were so impressed by their attention to detail! We recently had an excellent experience with Five Star Finish to renovate a full and half bathroom. Although they were not a low-price bidder, we chose Five Star for several reasons which are summarized in this review. Five Star is a small, family-owned business that is easy to work with. The core team consists of three brothers, Billy, Eric, and Mike, who do all the work, except for the sheet rocking. They were able to start the install during a scheduled vacation, so most of the work could be completed while we were out of the house. We were confident they could handle the demanding carpentry and plumbing work, based on their previous experience, and they had no problem working with our selected materials, compared to some bathroom contractors which push you to use their design recommendations and materials. Billy was extremely knowledgeable about the install issues, which included custom wainscoting, custom shelving, and installation over an existing mud floor with radiant heat pipes. And Gianna was very helpful coordinating the inspections and material pickups. The crew was able to complete most of the work during our vacation, which made the renovation experience much easier. The final bathrooms look fantastic, with excellent workmanship throughout, including tile work, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting. Overall, a very positive experience, which confirmed that we made the right decision to go with Five Star for our bathroom renovation work.Service: Bathroom remodeling

I was absolutely amazed by Billy's and Mike's professionalism and craftsmanship. They did a phenomenal job helping us hang our curtains inside our home. If you ever need something for your home, you should go nowhere else. Billy and Mike are the guys! I do highly recommend Five Star Finish LLC!

I can't say enough good things about Five Star! I had them fully renovate my kitchen and it was done so impeccably I invited them back to do my main bathroom and add an upstairs laundry. All of it was done on time and on budget. The team--Billy, Eric (who does beautiful tile work) and Mike--are fantastic. They completed the jobs neatly and cleanly and were efficient and respectful, even trying to keep quiet during construction while I worked at home! And they were tolerant of our dogs who, despite our best efforts, sometimes got underfoot. When the kitchen designer said he was unable to fit in the sink I wanted, Billy found a way to make it work. He also found a way to get additional lighting in a bedroom that at first seemed impossible. They even happily carried old furniture to the curb for us what was too heavy. Five Star did not give us the lowest quote, but their quality is well worth the price. I highly recommend this team to anyone without reservations.Services: Tile work installation

It's all in the name. FIVE STARS ALL AROUND! The thing that pulled us in to choose Five Star Finish was the responsiveness and care that we got on the phone and via email before we were even customers. I am happy to say that the level of professionalism continued throughout our time with them on the project. Their office manager, Gianna, is amazing to communicate with and always responds in a short period of time! Their lead contractor, Billy, is the nicest guy and I absolutely love how he's not just a "yes" man and will offer ideas outside of the plans we intended. And thank goodness he did because he pretty much DOUBLED our storage space!We recently bought the house we'd been renting for a number of years, so we knew what the issues were going to be headed into the project. We completely renovated the basement down to the studs and also redid our garage, top to bottom. In the span of this project, which was estimated to be 3 months and due to a delay of COVID on my part they finished in 4 months, they gutted the basement and garage, removed our chimney, redesigned the framing of the basement, updated our circuit breaker, updated some of our plumbing pipes, switched our house from central air to ductless (due to mold issues in the central air system it was way cheaper to not rip up walls throughout the entire house), and everything else that goes into creating a basement with a bedroom/office, full bath, two storage closets, a rec room, and a laundry/utility space.We could not be happier with the result and we've already started conversations for when we want to have them come back to update our kitchen next!Services: General construction

I first hired Five Star to do recessed lighting in my living room in addition to several other small jobs. They did a great job at a fair price. Even when some hiccups arose with some electrical work, they made sure to do it the right way (which involved climbing into our crawl space.) They were on time, went above and beyond during the job, and meticulously cleaned after they were done. Since then, they are my first call for any remodeling/repair jobs that I may need. Billy and his team remodeled a bathroom and kitchen for our home. They had a backlog, but after meeting with Billy and discussing our options and ideas for our remodel, we didn't think twice about waiting. Family owned business, everyone was attentive to our needs, and Gianna was more than helpful if any questions came up. They made sure the designs and work were done according to what we imagine our kitchen and bathroom should be. When everything was done, it looks amazing. We would recommend them. Thanks again!

If you are looking for a contractor with A+ communications A+ work and A+ people to work with look no further. Renovation is a tough process and this team puts smile through out your process. They help file permits, go to town for inspection and keep you posted with all updates. Works is done is a neat and fine manner. No complaints from this company. Did I forget to mention…..they even clean after themselves. Cleanest contractor work wise and ethic wise for our request.

The team at Five Star Finish was amazing to work with. We hired them to fully remodel our kitchen and basement. Their work is absolutely top notch and they have a keen attention to detail. On top of that, they are punctual, professional, and efficient. They were there to walk us through some unexpected problems that popped up in our old house, answer every question, and help us solve every issue. We hired Five Star Finish to replace one of the main beams and pillars holding up the house in the basement. We paid around $14,000, for the work plus some other minor tasks like pinning up pipes. Billy and his crew did a great job, they were fast and professional. They cleaned up well and treated everything with respect. They also handled all the permits and inspections without friction and kept us well informed every step of the way and were accommodating to any special needs we had around the contract. I would use them again.
