This review would have been higher, but the management company at this building is absolutely AWFUL! I cannot stress enough how badly they impacted my 1.5 year living experience, During COVID, they shamelessly began charging people $500 to move out in addition to a $1,000 security deposit. When asked to justify this expense, they refuse to give any information other than "sanitizing the service elevator." In addition to this, they restrict moves to one in or one out per week, only on Saturdays between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm. They threatened to lock the doors if we didn't pay the $500, and if then would call the police if we told the movers to come in anyway. What a shameful money grab during a pandemic, during which they have not allowed any visitors to enter the building, have shut down the gym (understandable) and have shut down the pool. No other buildings in the area have such restrictions. The building itself is very nice (balconies with each unit, a doorman, a lovely lobby, mostly hardwood floors, etc.) but there are many aspects of living here that seem to be taking advantage of residents through policies that just cost residents money. For example, to get rid of any large pieces of trash (like furniture, for example), you have to bring it down to the basement yourself and then pay a fee for the building to dispose of it, when the town picks up large trash items for free. The pool is nice, but you have to pay $5 per guest if you'd like to enjoy it with others. There is a convenient store inside the building, but the prices are very high. A few things to note are that behind the building (where the pool is and where the parking garage is), wind seems to come through at a very high speed, like a wind tunnel. You need your keycard to get in and out of the building, in and out of various doors within the building, and to get out of the garage (so carry your building ID on you at all times!). It is nice to get a call from the front desk when your food delivery has arrived, but you have to go down to get it, rather than it being delivered to your door (due to building policy). And the elevators are regularly out of service, so be prepared to wait often, or take the stairs. All and all, I would never have chosen to live in this building had I known the distasteful experience that came along with dealing with its management company. This is definitely one of those, "looks like a good deal on the surface" type of deals, but the hidden fees, headaches, and disrespectful interactions with the building management company are not worth it!
