I've banked with Provident for a long time, but I recently had to close my account as I don't live in the area any more so of course I have no need for a State only bank.I've never had any major problems with Provident and this particular branch the bank staff been extremely friendly with me. Even as I was there to close the account of course they aren't looking to lose a customer but she still very nice and professional about it.I also appreciate how fast all of business always is. Every account matter I've had here was taken care of 15 minutes or less. It's certainly more of an interesting Provident branch which looks more like an office or a firm rather than your usual bank with a counter that has tellers behind it.This wasn't even my closest branch, but I'd choose to go to this one because of how friendly the staff was.

Celine was fantastic at providing us with notary services. She was helpful and pleasant to work with. The branch is also very clean and calm.

Bad experience with this bank. I have a CD at Provident which is expiring and wanted to find out its new rates. The website is silent as to rates so I called the 800 number. They would not tell me but referred me to the local branch; but when I asked them for the direct number of the local branch (West Orange), the service rep said she does not have it but would transfer me. Finally got through to the local branch. The service rep was very evasive and kept trying to locate me in the system before he would discuss rates. I became curt with him saying that I just want the rates, regardless of whether he could locate me. After about 15 minutes total, on the phone, he told me the rates. They I realized why he was evasive - they were a fraction of what TD Bank offers. I'll be closing out my account and never returning to this place.

Don't work with the fat white older woman who sits in the first desk. She is a angry, unhelpful person. She acts like your interrupting her the entire time, I mean i probably was preventing her fat self from eating more cookies. The other staff friendly and apologetic for her rude fatness.
