I bought 4 ears of corn and 1/2 gallon of milk. Cost - $9.99. Expensive!!
The corn was mediocre. Maybe too early for good corn, but I've gotten good corn elsewhere.
The milk was curdled. It was disgusting - horrible smell and it poured out in clumps.
I'm not sure if Alstede merits even one star.

I went there with my family & they let you sample different flavors of their homemade pies ? the staff are young & respectful. My family and I also sampled different flavored pretzels. Friendly atmosphere ? I came home with a delicious lemon meringue pie for myself & family and my daughter with yummy pretzels & cream cheese

We are BIG fans of Alstede Farms and we were in the Sparta area and visited this branch. Super well stocked and very friendly employees (Nathan and the store manager are wonderful). They had a pie sampling and the pies are very fruit forward and not overly sweet. Fresh and well maintained. We love this place and its wonderful people!

Stopped in specifically for tomatoes. Asked woman at register if they were Lindekin grown and she said yes. When I had them at home, they were obviously hothouse. Paid way too much for hothouse tomatoes. Staff should either know the product or ask someone else. First bad experience here.

Awesome same Alsteade as Chester. Great gourmet foods, all superb quality. Baked goods, chocolates, best produce and seasonal goods/decor. Definitely stop in

Prices have risen since Lindeken was purchased by Alstede but in this economy that is to be expected. What is not expected is what I would consider to be consumer fraud. They sell many of their apples for $1.99 per pound and also sell them in a small bag containing 1/4-peck for $10.99. While I would imagine this to be the better deal, typically if you buy in bulk the price goes down, these bags only hold between 3 and 4 pounds of produce which at $1.99 per pound cannot be more than $8. When I went back to straighten out what I believed to be an error, I was informed that it was not, this is what they charge for the 1/4-peck bag regardless of the weight. I asked about the price of the bag and then I put it on the scale and it showed that if I emptied the bag on the scale and bought them at the per pound price it would only be $7.38 an over charge of $3.61. Personally, I find this to be an unconscionable practice and very deceptive to the average consumer. Their produce is good, if overpriced (think $4.00 for a bottle of water) but I am appalled at their business practices. When I asked to speak to a manager about the pricing I was told, "I am the manager and I don't make the prices" so then who does and do they understand or is it simply a money grab for people who are bad at math.

Prices are higher than supermarkets but the quality of the produce is better here.
