Solberg Airport

Solberg Airport hosts the annual hot air balloon festival, a popular family venue with entertainment for all. The view of the balloons flying up in the air is amazing and beautiful. The festival features local food vendors, drinks, gifts, and sellers of arts and crafts. There are rides, a bounce house, and helicopter rides available. Some visitors also flew a plane for a small taste of how to fly an aircraft, which was an extremely fun way to view the balloons. The experience can depend heavily on weather conditions, as balloons may not ascend due to wind. Communication about ascension decisions can sometimes occur with only thirty minutes' notice. Tickets for balloon rides sell out very fast, often needing to be booked a year in advance. For a smaller experience, they offer a quick service that takes a balloon up to 25 feet. While some advise purchasing tickets on the spot after confirming ascension, the festival is still highly recommended by many who attend.
