My father was admitted here twice within a year after a brain hemorrhage in June of 2022. After a major lung infection from aspirating, he was on a variety of antibiotics. Select was able to get the right one and finally control his infection. This is literally the only hospital where was able to recover and get to a baseline state. The nurses and respiratory were outstanding. When we couldn't be there in person, we could call anytime and get thorough updates. Doctors always called back and were happy to discuss future plans. The team here had clear goals with us and eventually we were able to train as a family to bring my father home, which we finally did. I can't recommend this place enough for a loved one, I trust them completely.

I have come to the conclusion that people write reviews for the most part when they are dissatisfied. This is not the case here, read on:My wife is a C5 paraplegic who has spent close to 100 days this year hospitalized for a myriad of conditions, the worst being the pressure wounds that have grown to stage 4 and are to be expected when lying on your back in a hospital. After 30 days at the hospital during this last stay they informed us she would be transferred to SELECT SPECIALTY HOSPITAL to continue healing. My family and I knew nothing about this hospital but after a tour by Ron we liked what we saw and said we will give it a try.It turns out this facility is, in my opinion, the BEST KEPT SECRET in Burlington County. As I walked in I realized my first grandson was born here 27 years ago. SELECT is attached to Virtua Willingboro and used to be the Maternity Ward. From the time we entered we knew we were in for a different kind of experience, one that you do not always feel when leaving your loved one in a hospital.During our three weeks at SELECT we were treated as family but, more important, my wife received an abundance of round-the-clock care. Her wound surgeon, Dr. Mukalian, got to work immediately on taking care of the wounds along with his skilled team of Marie and Brad. He sometimes asked me to assist since I have been her caregiver for twelve years. The Case Manager, Jessica French, is truly a case manager as she follows her patients throughout their stay and after discharge. Thank you, Jessica, for handling all the ordering details that I would tend to forget. While I am giving thanks, I cannot imagine my wife getting any better care than Margaret, Ron, John and all the nurses who were so eager to assist. And special thanks to techs Yanette and Marie for their genuine care. The patient to nurse ratio is so much better that hospitals. This is a small 69 bed unit and each patient is treated as if they are the only patient. It truly is ICU setting and a step above normal hospital care. When I arrived each morning at 8 AM I would encounter a young man, always happy and smiling, who would come in to clean our room, mopping it to a clean shine and smiling always. I realized what made this facilty somewhat different, this young man named John, was always happy and took pride in his work. Everyone you meet here is happy, outgoing, positive and willing to help. This is not what we were used to as we have encountered those tired, under staffed individuals who would share their complaints. And the doctors, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Heebalalu, went above and beyond keeping us informed and listening to our input. THANK YOU!!SELECT SPECIALTY is BIG enough to do the job and SMALL enough to do it RIGHT!!!Santo M. Celia

My wife has now been in SSH-Willingboro for over a week (over the Thanksgiving holiday), and I have visited daily. The staff has been very responsive, the physical therapy team (who I watched once) really excellent, every question gets answered, and just overall everything has been great. (There's a full Virtua hospital just yards away, just in case.) Lisa arrived with a bed sore, and I have noticed it being addressed daily and her shifted (not roughly) every time she asks (foam wedges are used along with pillows). SSH has been accommodating in every way.

Mom was transferred to this facility on a trach collar and feeding tube. Within a week she developed a bad rash on her bottom and she was on a nasal cannula. Which means she wasn’t repositioning or suctioned every two hours as necessary. Mom almost died in ICU due to Covid pneumonia. They took off the nasal cannula and put her back on the trach because she developed mucus. After a few weeks she was transferred to a sub acute rehab facility. I received one call regarding her treatment plan, her Dr never called me to tell me about her discharge plan. She left still on a trach collar, the PEG tube and plus an ulcer on her bottom and a bleeding rash on her bottom. When I asked if she would be tested for Covid I was told not unless she is sick or upon discharge. These facility do not understand the great stress that the families suffer for our lives one placed under their care. Her comfort status and s indicative of the recovery she would make, and she was very uncomfortable and anxious in this facility! This facility is short staffed and it negatively affects the parientas ability to progress. So sad. :(
