Gil was the best! Shame to see response comments by Jayne to a customer 3 months ago & to see that is Gil no longer in town & business is sold to a new mechanic. I'm sure Gil will do very well wherever his new path leads him.

Yesterday, I would have agreed with all of the reviews for A to Z auto. I really dislike doing this but I don't appreciate being lied to. Gil farmed my work out to a specialist which I was ok with. I was promised to be charged his shop price- cool. What happened next was completely out of Gil's control. The other shop kept my truck for 2 weeks due to some snafu regarding parts for the repair. It was frustrating for me because it was my work truck. During one of our discussions, I told Gil I may have to rent a car for the weekend. He offered to help with that as he felt bad that the other shop was taking so long. ( Gil was frustrated too with dealing with the other shop) At one point Gil told me to deal with the other shop by myself. When my truck was finally finished I paid a higher price than what was quoted because I was no longer getting Gil's shop price. Gil offered to make up the difference but then reneged on that offer saying he couldn't do it. As I had to have a fluid change at 500 miles I asked if he would do it and he agreed to for only the price of the materials. Well, today my truck was ready for pick up and he quoted me a price that clearly included labor charges. When I reminded him that he agreed to do the job for the price of materials he kept reciting excuses why he couldn't. He finally relented and I got the price HE originally agreed to.I never held Gil and Jayne accountable for the misgivings of the other shop, and I told them that. A to Z has done some good work on my truck at a reasonable price and in a timely manner. This is why I went back to them. I certainly trust the quality of their work, but this? Three broken promises is a bit too much for me to accept. I finally found a decent mechanic and now, unfortunately, I have to find another.

Dropped my car Wednesday night and had it back Thurs afternoon. Always able to squeeze me in last minute and before a holiday weekend, no less! Got my A/C fixed here last summer and just had my brakes done. Gil is the only person I trust with my car at this point, I've been ripped off by so many dealerships so I really appreciate the honest work he does. He even shows me the bad parts afterward! Thanks again A to Z. Always happy with the work here. Will be back again and again!

I was told my car's rear rotors needed to be changed at the dealer but was quoted what I felt was a ridiculous amount of money to fix. I decided to shop around for options. I started at Ray & Dana's Inman Auto Care. He offered a free estimate. He sent a very comprehensive list of things that needed to be done on my car. I was very impressed with the meticulous detail and the photographs to show why I they were suggesting the fix. This report made me feel that this was an honest shop. And made me feel confortable enough to trust. It turned out that all rotors needed to be changed. I paid a bit more than what the dealer quoted but got both front and rear brakes overhauled and new brake fluids and wheels rotated and balanced. But most of all I got a clear understanding of why it had to be done and the feeling that they were trustworthy. Their customer service was excellent! I live a mile away and needed to be home for telework so he had someone drive me home and then pick me up to get the car. That was awesome and I really appreciated it. Also I called several times with questions and concerns. They politely answered all my questions. I asked them to align the wheels. They checked the alignment and told me it was not necessary. This sealed the deal. I trust this shop and will have them work on my car again.

I recently took my Honda Element to Ray & Dana's for a 2nd opinion - for a repair which my local Honda dealership said would cost $6000 to fix/replace. (full exhaust system replacement) Right from the initial appointment phone call, they were very friendly, and proved they were knowledgeable about the issues, and made me feel at ease. When I arrived for my appointment a few days later, the woman who greeted me at the front desk (Liz) greeted me with a smile, and she was so knowledgeable, that I almost thought she was the mechanic herself. :) And when she called me with the diagnosis, she clearly explained my options, and discussed pros and cons of each one. We went with a full replacement using after-market parts from a company they trusted. And the total was only around $1700 - which is a full $4300 less than the dealership had quoted. (!!) After they fixed my car, the mechanic called to let me know he'd driven my car around for a while, making sure everything was OK. I really appreciated the service I received from Ray & Dana's. I will definitely be coming here for any future car issues. And I've already recommended them to some friends. thanks!!

This was my second visit to this establishment. First was good as well, but this visit stood out above the rest. Not only are they extremely fair with pricing and time estimates, they were immensely friendly and helpful as well. The quality of work was superb also. I will be returning to them in the future, they've got a loyal customer now!

Just when I lost faith in all humanity and honest hardworking mechanics I was recommended this place for my tires change. I needed four new tires and I could tell over the phone these people were incredible. I had to go to work so my 86 year old grandfather did me a favor and dropped off my vehicle to the shop. They didn't call him a cab, they didn't take our money and make him wait, they had an employee take time out of his busy day to drive my grandfather back home. It doesn't stop there, they PICKED HIM UP when it was done so he didn't have to take a cab there. This is the type of "buisness" mindset and hospitality that is slowly being pushed away by big money hungry corporations. I got 4 beautiful tires and a boost of faith that good people still exist. Thank you so much Dana, I will be back and I will recommend this place to ANYONE who is looking for a trustworthy, honest, and integrity filled mechanic.

D & R Automotive changed my water pump. They did a good job sealing it with silicone but forgot to tighten up most of the screws. When I took it to another place they asked an unusual question. "who changed my water pump"? I found it unusual because I never mentioned anything about any water pump. He said someone did not fix my water pump correctly. That is why my engine broke . They sent me videos and pictures. I don't drive the truck much so nothing happened till after the insurance was over. Little bit after 3 weeks my tuck overheated and broke. The other automotive place tried talking to them. They did not want to talk. They said "they will wait for me to sue them and see them in court ". I'm not that type of person. I don't ever look forward to go after anyone's money. So I fixed it with my own money. I am here to inform the audience. My experience with them was horrible . I spent $700 for the water pump then $2000 to fix my engine after. D&R was not helpful. I will not let anyone else go through this!!!

Very honest people! Very refreshing after having been cheated by so many others in the area. No more searching, A to Z is my shop for good.

Chicago's loss is Point Pleasant's gain. Gil and Jayne did a great job taking care of our cars (which is saying a lot because our teenagers weren't great about taking care of them!) They are honest and trustworthy, which is hard to find, here in Chicago. They always called to explain what the problem was, and how much it would cost. They were great about turnaround too - I think the longest they had any of our cars was 2 days. Can't say enough good things about them, highly recommend!
