I am standing here in the post office. First one one line with 6 persons behind me. There is one man waiting on someone. I watched another man come out of the back and ask the gentleman waiting on the person a question. I’ve been in line 1/2 hour. Insane. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING TO THIS POST OFFICE…INLESS YOU HAVE A 1/2 DAY TO WASTE…..LITERALLY

I checked my package tracking and it has been at this station for 3 days with no additional info. After reading these reviews, I think I will just do another compulsion order, only I will make sure it's not from NJ. Let's see what other junk I can buy online........

Mishandled
My package was marked “undeliverable” at 5:00 AM, which is not a standard delivery time and clearly no real attempt was made. Someone was home all day, and no one came to the door.
This was a very important check that is now being returned to the sender, causing a delay of up to 14 more days due to USPS’s failure to deliver.
There’s no working phone support or email to resolve this, which is incredibly frustrating. How is customer satisfaction being prioritized when there’s no way to speak to someone about serious issues like this?

Had a passport appt here for my son and staff were friendly and accommodating. The process was very easy and we were in and out of there 15 maybe 20 min. Will be coming back to get the rest of our passports processed here. Location is easy to get to with 15 min street parking.

We had a passport appointment here for our newborn, and it had been a *stressful* morning for us. We were seen promptly and the person we interacted with was so efficient and so kind. He lowkey restored my faith in humanity. The post office is almost never a fun place to conduct business, but our experience at this one was superb.

Tried to go here for a passport during walk in hours. Tried to call ahead but they never pick up the phone. When we get there the woman behind the counter said they do not have walk in hours despite the USPS website saying they do. When I asked what local area PO has walk in hours, she said to check online. But didn't she just say online is wrong? Another government agency employee who doesn't want to work. Mind you, when we got there, there was only one person in line with two people working behind the counter. And of course she wasn't apologetic and quite rude in her tone to us. From reading other reviews online now, it seems this is her normal character with customers.Will NEVER go back here for anything.

I’ve had several packages of value items and medication go to this post office and never get delivered or even leave this post office. This post office is either a black hole or employees are stealing.
The second I see Avenel on a tracker I know I won’t be seeing the package.

Terrible customer service. They shouldn’t say available walk-in hours on Saturday when they dont do walk-in. They don’t even try to help.

(Update the package was stolen from this post office, thankfully it was only ski goggles that the company helped me order a new pair)
This post office is one of the worst and most unprofessional in the entire United States. My package has been sitting here for 11 days with no updates. Has it been stolen, will it get delivered, who knows? I tried calling them but the beautiful worker on the other end picked up the phone and hung it up instantly before I could say anything (very nice of you). If that doesn't show you how classy these people are I don't know what else will. Since this is a reoccurring thing after reading the reviews, there's obviously nothing I can do besides list my grievances on a public forum. I hope the people working in this post office decide to do their jobs; but that's a lot to ask for now isn't it. If your package is coming through here you are not going to be receiving it for weeks.

The website says they take walk-ins on Saturdays for passports and photos. They in fact do not. If they don’t have enough staff to take walk-ins because the one person handling passports is doing the appointments, then just say that. Don’t waste our time thinking this is an option. It should not be listed on the website.
