I am a local resident in Hillsdale and I am all about supporting local businesses versus big commercial places even if I have to pay a little more however, my experience at this nursery was very disappointing I was in multiple sections of the nursery, looking for a very specific type of flower or plant. The woman who was there passed me several times and while she was helping another customer she did not acknowledge me or even go as far as saying if you need help, I’ll be with you in a minute. I then proceeded to go indoors when she was helping this or even offered to say to me again I am busy with this customer but will be with you in a few minutes
After 10 minutes of waiting, I decided to take my business elsewhere

Today i experienced a deeply unpleasant experience at Mayberry Nursery. I came to the nursery to purchase flowers for my office. After deciding to take a quick photo to confirm this was the flowers I should purchase, I was rudely confronted by someone who did not announce themselves, possibly a manager. I asked if the items were for sale as I was confused why I was being confronted. Without any courtesy or explanation, I was encouraged to leave the premises as photos were not allowed.
The entire situation was handled with an appalling lack of professionalism and sensitivity. Rather than politely inquiring about my intentions after I had all ready entered the store and no one was inside for assistance or even expressing any concerns, the manager’s attitude was hostile and unwelcoming. I find it hard to believe that such a simple act could warrant such an over-the-top reaction. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the establishment and discourages any sense of goodwill or community.
I was left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome, all over an innocent photo of a flower. It's disappointing that such a beautiful place could be marred by such nastiness from its staff.

I try to support local but unfortunately this place isn’t as good as it used to be. Not many options nor is staff very helpful in helping you find what you’re looking for. I guess I’ll have to go to closter instead

Don't bother going here. I just purchased 7 items paid and was told thank you. I asked for a tray to carry and told I had to go outside and see if there's something under-the-table. No customer service what so ever. Too busy sitting outside in the sun on the phone.

I went to pick up some plants for a girl scout project and teacher's appreication week. When I checked my receipt, there was an extra item on it for $8.99. I went back and told the lady, that I was charged $8.99 for something I didn't buy. Instead of apologising, she gave me attitude saying it will be not easy for her to refund me. I asked her if I could give her 1 cent, and get $9, she said 'no', looked away, and asked for the next customer. Needless to say, never going back to this place again. Not only they tried to rip me off, they were also so rude!

I've had Mayberry's maintain both our personal and business properties for the last 30 years. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are super neat and professional and maintenance costs are very reasonable. They just did a spring clean-up on my yard and it looks great! I personally think I have the nicest lawn in the neighborhood.

Visited this morning intending to buy a large drooping spruce. The owner came out to tell us to move our truck. She was curt and stated ,” I am concerned that other customers won’t be able to park”. We said, “ no problem”. As I began to inquire about the spruce, the owner turned around and walked away. She did not ask if we needed help so I decided to go elsewhere.

Third year purchasing a Christmas tree from these folks and they didn't disappoint again. Tree seems very fresh, and if the past two years are any indication, it will be a shame to throw the tree away in January....as they stay that fresh. Very thrilled that they deliver as well....great since it would have been a challenge to get the tree in the car. Glad to have such a wonderful neighborhood nursery.

First and last time I will give this woman money. My friend knew I was looking for Ivy for my home and she found it at this place down the block from my house. When I got there she was holding four planters of them for me and she had a couple of plants she picked up as well. When we got to the front desk. I paid for my plants. When my friend went to pay the owner she shook her finger and pointed to the 20.00 minimum on a card. My card was still in the reader and I told her to put her plants on mine and the owner said it was too late.My friend put the plants back and we left. So we left and I put my plants in the car. And I saw this woman, the owner, come out and say, "I just wanted to check that you didn't take the plants." I was already sitting in the car and rolled the window down to hear her accuse my friend of stealing plants and by being in my car, I would be complicit. So I told her, "you've got to be kidding me," to which she replied you have no idea how many people steal from me." Well not ya. And my friend has been going there for ten years! This riled my friend up so much she went right back in to speak with the owners husband who is co-owner and she was not having it. And still while I was waiting in the car and my friend was walking back this lady followed her and looked in the car saying "let me see the plants let me see where you put them!" I even mentioned that I offered to purchase them on my card to which she declined, why would take 9.00 worth of plants when I spent a more than that. What horrible business practice. If it were a retail store that would not fly and lawyers would be involved. People may steal from you Miss, but we were not those people.

I was at the walking home today and stopped in Mayberry to see if they had any annuals I might want to add to my garden. I found 4 little packs of coleus that I wanted...they were $2.19 a pack then I saw some ivy plants I knew my friend was looking for so I called and told him to come down and meet me there. We went in to pay for them and had to wait for the owner to get out of her car which was parked out by the front door where she was sitting ignoring the customers who were walking in to pay for plants (we weren't the only ones) until her husband went and told her to go inside to take care of us (he was working with some guys outside) My friend paid for his ivy which came to over $20 with his card. She added mine up and when I gave her my card she said it was a minimum of $20 for cards, I didn't have ay cash with m, my friend asked her to add it to his order which wasn't processed et and she said it was too late. I live very close so I said it was no problem that I would go back tomorrow. Being polite I wasn't going to just leave the 4 packs for her to have to put back on the shelf so I returned them to where I got them outside. My friend and I walked to the car that was parked in front of the bagel store, when we were about to pull out we saw her walking towards the car so my friend rolled down the window...I thought maybe one of us had left our card on the counter and she was bringing it out. Oh no; she walked up and said "I just want to check that you didn't take the plants" I was stunned. I've been shopping there and she's known me for 12 years. I only go there occasionally because they're so close but they're much more expensive than other nurseries, but she still knows me pretty well. I couldn't believe this woman was accusing me of stealing $8 in plants! We left but I got more upset as we drove away and I wanted to speak with her husband/co-owner. She saw me and ran out of the office refusing to let me speak to him. I told her how I felt about her accusation and the fact that she did this in front of another customer. She just kept repeating that I wouldn't believe how many people steal from her as if this justified her behavior. I went back to the car and she followed me out AGAIN! This time demanding to know where I put the plants! The car is an SUV with no trunk and she could see very clearly we didn't have them. I was so upset at this point I got out to walk her over to show them to here exactly where I had originally found them, as I got out of the car she grabbed my arm. I had to tell her to take her hand off me! I showed her the plants exactly where they belonged...on her shelf. Not a single word of an apology even came out of her mouth! Do yourself a favor and avoid this despicable woman and her business, you can get the exact same plants and shrubs at Home Depot or Loews for a fraction of the cost. As for landscaping; there are dozens of landscapers in the area to choose from rather than give your money to such a horrid person.
