Yesterday I went into the liquor and watched two white males not get carted. As I got to the front the owner and his helper asked if I had my ID and that they card EVERYONE. However, they didn’t card everyone , they carded me as an African American male.This is not the first time that this establishment has been discriminatory. The first time I walked in with a service dog, explained he was a service dog and even had identification and there was still a problem. As a soldier, as an a male and as an African American I am beyond offended.

After about the fourth visit to this establishment, I decided to throw something away in the dumpster on the side of the building, rather than throw it on the ground in front of the store upon building. I was greeted by the old man that I had just dealt with inside. He came outside the store yelling at me. "This isn't your property. That's not your dumpster. I have your plate number. Get the hell out of here and don't ever come back". I had a handful of garbage not a dumpster full. I thought it was little over the top. It was some garbage. And wouldn't you want me to put the garbage in the dumpster rather than liter in the parking lot.

This dude is so ignorant .. don’t have small talk with him , because if you disagree with him and voice it, god help you . he goes on tirades about how he’s right and everyone else is wrong … very poor customer service. Not to mention seems like the minimum to pay card changes depending on who you are . And then try’s to demand cash . Feel sorry for him when cash becomes obsolete and he can’t do anything about it . Poor guy . Long story short , stay away from this high priced poorly ran establishment.

I went in for a bottle of wine to enjoy the evening. It is a very small store but it tries to make the best use of its space. Selection is a little limited but not bad for a local store. I was greeted very politely and assisted in finding something new (and reasonably priced) to try. Both owner and employee were very nice and very helpful. I mentioned I was new to the area, and the owner welcomed me to stop by whenever if I had any questions about town and even made a few suggestions of what I could do for fun fall entertainment. Overall, a very pleasant and welcoming experience.

3rd and final time giving this old colonizer any more of money.. How would you guys feel if you walked into a store and hearing "little too dark in here". The last straw was while he spoke with his fair skinned co-worker and customer I walked in you hear " ughhh yea I'm changing the sign to locals only". STOP COMING HERE IF YOURE BLACK. He's pushing for any reation to have you out of character. So before you jeopardize your integrity choose another liquor.
