Bode's General Store is a charming and genuine landmark, serving travelers since 1893. It is a convenient convenience store and a Phillips 66 gas station with self-service pumps open 24/7. The store carries a huge stock of outdoor gear, hardware, groceries, gifts, southwest materials, and memorabilia, including brands like Yeti and Lodge. It is known for its wonderful home cooked cafe, offering famous green chile cheeseburgers, ice cream, beer on tap, organic snacks, and some of the best pies and pastries, all prepared daily. The friendly staff provides great service. While some items are considered super pricey, the store offers a super selection and is a valued alternative to driving to a bigger town.
