They were super friendly and helpful when I brought my new puppy in for initial shots and exams last February through the summer. I wanted to keep using them. However, they quoted me a potential cost of over 500 dollars and up to over 1000 Dollars to get my dog neutered. This is more expensive than the highest estimate shared in a January 2024 Forbes article. I feel like they are way too expensive and that they are trying to take advantage of me now. I believe they are price gouging and greed is guiding their decisions rather than compassion.Response to the owner: I found another local vet that can supply services for under 200 dollars. Huge difference!!!

The name may trick you. They are not a hospital where they have staff 24/7. They is only 1 vet in town that does emergency visits after hours. Should you have surgery & complications happen after hours, you need to go to another vet. to try & help your loved one. The other vet is having to do the best they can because there is no paperwork or doctor they can read or talk to to see exactly what kind of surgery was performed. Yes, my dog died 3 days later due to complications (infection) from surgery. There is also no follow-up phone call, especially after surgery, to see how your animal is doing or needs anything. Doctor Byrnes told us to call another vet in case something came up after hours. (After 5 pm until they open the next day plus close on weekends) I do recommend this vet for basic care (vaccines, nail trim, etc) because I have received good service on that. I like the Doctor Byrnes a lot, but I have questioned diagnostic, especially when my dog had to wait until 8 months later until the cyst grew to about 3/4 the size of a basketball from about the size of a baseball. Expect to pay a minimum of $150.00 with any service from any veterinarian, emergency services around $450.00 & up. & surgery $800 & up depending on surgery. Our surgery was over $1200.00 for our dog to die 3 days later.

I was very impressed with everyone at Alamogordo Animal Hospital. The front desk employee was very nice and courteous. The Vet Tech was so sweet and good with our two large dogs. The Vet herself was awesome and exuded confidence and knowledge. I highly recommend them. Jerri and Craig Ricard, Honus and Wagner!

Great experience. The staff was very friendly. The vet was just the same and explained everything as the visit started to end. Little Jay got a pup cup after for being good.

Always very kind and professional. You can tell these people are here for the animals and not just money grabbing. They even helped me bring down the surgery price for my dog significantly after thoroughly going through the quote with me and helping me find a comfortable and reasonable price without any back and forth. Overall very trustworthy and professional.

Very impressed with Dr. Byrnes and the level of care she and her team delivers. The clinic is spotless, and so nice inside. Highly reccomend this clinic to take care of your pet's need. The prices were reasonable and I felt that the whole experience was outstanding.

The staff at Alamogordo Animal Hospital has always been so kind to us and to our animal babies. When one of our dogs needed emergency surgery, Dr. Byrnes made room on her schedule to take care of her, and made sure to follow up with us after to make sure our girl was doing good. Will always be thankful for Dr. Byrnes and the staff there!

I had an appointment for a allergy shot for my dog, however I was told since my dog was a new patient, she would have to have a wellness check. I agreed, but the wellness check was over $70.00 and it consisted of just listening to my dog's heart rate! Personally, I feel this was too my money on the examination she received!

Dr. Brynes is wonderful! She clearly cares and does her homework before our visits. We got some tough news with one of our pups and she....and her team.... have been fabulous to work with. They've helped us work with some of the specialists we had to deal with. She has given the best attention to all of our fur family.... we love this team!

My fur baby was just diagnosed with diabetes Dr. Byrnes-Wood and staff are great! So friendly and helpful and patient with the new learning curve of the medicine he is on. We have to leave him for monitoring sometimes and I feel that the staff is very caring when he is in their care. Thank you for all you do??

They are delightful and better then paw and hand they went above and beyond to help us with Lulu. Lulu is happier now and wagging her tail also, running around. Dr. L saw my little baby pup since our original vet clinic was closed even though they claimed they would be open they squeezed us in their schedule and helped us find their office since we are blind and walking. We are very greatful I thought my baby was going to die. But they were angels in disguise ? ? ? she is sleeping on her own now THANK YOU ANIMAL HOSPITAL!
