Terrible service. Waited 45 minutes for a car that I checked in online for adding my DL# and credit card so I did’t have to wait. The employees are horrible too. Chatty Kathy taking 20 minutes per person. Clearly an hourly employee. Also took them another 15 minutes to bring my car around. Standing in the heat waiting. No one helps you. Never renting here again!

So I made a reservation a month in advance for a rental car for a road trip, after being a Avis customer in the past I felt pretty secure in my choice. However upon arrival the Avis counter was empty and I was sent to the Budget counter, after waiting in life for a while the Avis employee had returned and I was then sent to the Avis counter to wait there. Kent was the customer service associate that was "helping" the people in line. And by helping I mean be absolutely rude to everyone in line, and raising his voice at customers, he made serval snide remarks to the people in front of me while assisting them including one elderly gentleman. When it was finally my turn I was informed by Kent that my prepaid rental had been given away and that I could rent a 12 passenger van, I explained that I was uncomfortable driving that, he became annoyed with me like I was the one causing him a inconvenience. When I asked for a refund he tossed a paper at me and told me to screen shot it with my phone and call them for a refund. It wasn't so much that Avis didn't have the rental I paid for, I feel like that could be addressed. Kent, the wonderful outstanding human that he is made sure I will never rent from Avis again, in fact I would prefer to take my chances hitchhiking than to ever deal with that man again. I honestly feel like he should not be employed in anything that involves dealing with people in general. He has the personality of a dried up miserable raisin.

I rented a vehicle from them because mine was totaled back in June. Nowhere else was able to get me a rental in the time frame I needed. These guys were supposed to bill my insurance directly and I was only supposed to have a $100 hold on my credit card. When I went to drop of the rental today, the woman in the office who I believe is named Jody kept insisting that she needed my card but wouldn't tell me what it was for. Literally just said, "I need your card to do the ...thing." She told me nothing would be charged to my card but low and behold, they charged me $533. I told her repeatedly that they were supposed to bill my insurance, not me. It was very obvious that she did not know what she was doing and now I'm out $533. Save yourselves the headache. Go somewhere else.

So far it was fast since I did most of what they needed online. I had a 30 minute lunch break and managed to get it done right away.

Beware, there is no key drop box and the front desk absolves themself of any association with the business literally inside of their hotel and refused to hold the key until the rental office opens. What you save in money you pay in time by using the budget/Avis crew.

Do not go here! Initial interaction picking up vehicle seemed like I was at the DMV or was interrupting his me time. attempted to return car in about 15 hours earlier than scheduled, but they closed early "due to the Covid pandemic," which was scribbled on the door. I left the car in their lot, and the key slot was sealed. The hotel attendants are not allowed to take the keys, as they are not affiliated or just not prohibited. Drop off time was slated for 830 and keys were dropped off about 8:50, was assured the charges would mirror the itinerary. Was informed there is a 30 minute grace period. Was charged an extra day although I technically dropped off the day before. Called customer service and she stated Billing can refund me the extra charge-was transferred to billing for an hour wait. Not frustrated with customer service or billing, it's the horrible customer service at our local site. Needless to say, we have other options.

Buyer beware! This location is awful. When I rented a camero for the weekend the convertible top was broken and the inside was nasty! Gunk on controls and looked like burn holes in seat. Unfortunately I had a need to extend for one day and this is where the real problems began. The system was "down" when I called in and was told to go to the physical location. The gentleman at the front desk was unable to help so I asked to speak with a manager who was unavailable for 15 minutes that turned into 30 minutes. I was unable to extend my rental and unable to speak with a manager. The customer service with this company is a joke and the "upgraded" car was a joke. Rent with Avis and if you run into issues it's on you! I could go on but I'll leave it at that. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Rented in Albuquerque and drove to Roswell, NM. Both agencies were great. Drop off using the drop box in Roswell was a breeze - even got a refund on part of my rental, and I have no idea why. Ha!

Arriving at the rental car area for ABQ International Airport, each rental agency was busy. That was to be expected during the 2021 Balloon Fiesta. Avis had two efficient, friendly agents. We waited about 15 minutes, and check in was easy and quick with Loc Tran Saturday at 3:30, 10/2/21. Our full size car was a Kia Optima. It had been cleaned, but we could see & photograph the fine scratches on the hood, a small dent on the right front fender, and a few minor scratches on the back fender. Inside, it was clean and functional. Gentleman who checked us out of the lot was nice and quick. Once on the road, with the sun glinting off the windshield, we saw the minuscule chip on the driver's side of the windshield. We dropped our baggage at the family's home, and drove back to Avis. This had not been documented, and the last time we rented a car with "only a tiny chip," it became a full scratched windshield and we were charged. We tried to call, to ask what to do, but we're disconnected the first time & transferred to a closed department the second time. We filled up the "full tank" and it took 1.5 gallons for 20 miles! A lovely young woman helped us at Avis. She documented the chip, and told us to return it if it became worse. That might be difficult once we head to CO later this week. Fingers crossed it does not spread. We have had the car for 3 days, and so far it's fine. Avis DID try harder! We will return the car Tuesday with no new dents, scratches, and the pre-existing chipped windshield.

WTF. When a reservation is one price and you want to double charge someone. I understand that time are hard. But really. 700 for the week is bad enough. Then u charge 1300. Not cool on top of it 1.5 hr line to rent a car an 2 hour an 4 car later after the first one Service engine light was on second car front bumper was falling off third car AC was broken and then you give me a better car but then you charge me instead of giving it because you were trying to give me broken cars really. It’s been tuff for all but ripping ppl off. BAD Business
