I visited ABQ International Sunport during COVID-19 restrictions, so this review may not be the full picture once things reopen. When I was there, I found the staff to be quite helpful. The environment was kept very clean, and there were plenty of seats so there was enough physical distancing space to sit in a chair and eat a snack without breathing on anyone. They have comfy, padded brown chairs lining the walkways. I liked the Native design elements in the sunport, including the bathroom wall tiles. The vibe feels warm, not hospitaly like some airports. It's a small airport, so quick to move through on foot. The rental car shuttle goes from the airport to all of the rental car counters in one stop, which was convenient. Beware if you are taking flights that arrive to ABQ late at night (at least during COVID) -- it's possible all of the food sources other than vending machines could be closed, and many of the restaurants in ABQ proper close fairly early. So pack snacks in case.

I travel a lot and have been to and through a large number of airports. It's always nice to come back to ABQ where the airport is clean, not hectic, organized, etc. The staff, agents, TSA everyone are very nice! It's alway to come to NM and ABQ!!

Well, I don't like giving bad reviews but having too wait 30 minutes for a rental car shuttle than when two gets here there is no organization no one directing traffic for the patrons or the vehicular traffic outside just unacceptable. The signage is somewhat confusing and for a major city wouldn't think it would take almost an hour too leave an airport just get a rental car.

4.5 stars! Very nice, clean and no hassle small airport that I really do not despise at all! The airport was never too crowded, the area was almost always clean...things are often neat and in ordef and the staff in the airport are generally nice and helpful. Checking in and off boarding the plane processes are usually a breeze..so it has been quite a pleasant experience for me. Given its relative small size and some NM artifacts here and there..this airport does have its own charm! You can count on getting to the airport from anywhere in ABQ in less than 30min!..Not bad and not much to complain about at all! The only 2 drawbacks I can think of, however, are: 1) not as many direct flights to other major metros and 2) if you arrive at the airport without someone picking you up..you may end up a bit for a ride share!

This airport also makes the list for my top 5 in USA. A hidden gem and probably not high traffic due to it being out of most routes ways. It's super ABQ themed/cultured inside which I really enjoy. Great gift shops, last minute piñon coffee/chili's/Los poblanos swag... and love being able to grab a Keva juice before I leave the city. Wish there was more dining options (I'd love to see a mini frontiers). But not a lot of gates or routes coming into/out of here, so flight prices are on the higher end and when visiting or flying thru abq you'd need to plan ahead to avoid the steep price hill. It's a little tacky out of SW context, but I absolutely adore the turquoise green decor and paint detailing in and outdoors

Alb has always been one of my fav ports to fly through. It's always super clean and 75% of the tome it's super fast to go through security. Kudos to the cleaning crew because I didn't see any trash laying around. I love all the shops here and could spend hrs looking @ all the items for sale

I love this airport! Not the biggest or baddest airport, but really cute and fun to be at. Over the years, I've flown in and out of here a few times and really enjoy being here when I am. I remember the first time I came here and thought it was so tiny, but as I traveled more and more I realized its actually bigger than I thought. The airport is decorated really well, and has a relaxing southwest design. It has pinkish tones, wood and tile throughout along with the usual turquoise as well. Its my kind of decor! very relaxing to me. the walk from the terminals to get your baggage is LONG. I swear I walked at least a mile from my gate to get my bags. I actually had to stop and ask to make sure I was going in the right direction. There's plenty of shopping and seating here for most folks. I don't remember seeing a lot of food options, but that's ok. Plenty of bathrooms and places to sit, even with social distancing. Even though the airport wasn't super busy when I was there this time, there was still staff available to answer questions if and when I needed it. Obviously not all the shops are open right now, but that's fine, I don't go to the airport to shop, I go for the airplanes. LOL. Overall, for the many times I have been here I have really enjoyed my tim here. It's super easy to navigate, has rental cars onsite and a designated rideshare pickup spot for Uber, Lyft and taxis alike. Be prepared to walk when here! Thank you ABQ airport, you really do it for me.

No problem social distancing at the Albuquerque airport because there are currently very few passengers. New Mexico has done everything right to keep their numbers low. Cool city.

The ABQ International Sunport is legit VIBES. Super breezy security situation, not too busy and hella Santa Fe decor. I'm in! Would happily fly to and from this little airport anytime.

This airport was a breeze and so New Mexico--from the flooring and decor to the laid back vibes and friendliness of the people. I appreciated how easy to navigate it was and that there were no crowds, especially after coming from the Bay Area and flying through LAX (oof). Pretty sure it took us less than 15 mins to check into flight, drop off luggage, and get through security. Out of habit, we arrived a couple hours before our flight and had way too much time to kill. And this is probably not the airport you wanna spend too much time in--I mean that in a good way, if that makes sense. Accessibility is great too. Airport is close to Downtown ABQ, so we were able to brewery hop and grab a bite before our flight home without feeling too rushed at all. Looking forward to returning to this area again (NM is under-the-radar, ya'all) and flying into ABQ.

Albuquerque International Airport is easy to get into and out from your flight. It has a taste of NM in its eateries and shopping. Also a very comfortable waiting place for longer layovers...upstairs with a nice view!

Four stars are for the airport dogs! Parking isn't bad. Gift shops have cute stuff. Don't miss the loss poblanos lavender stuff. Now for the bad - the employees.... everywhere, check in for multiple airlines, baggage office, gate agents, TSA. What a pack of absolute idiots. Especially the sloppy TSA j*** who yells about laptops and shoes and liquids. STFU! Is it really necessary to employ someone to do this? What is wrong with a recording of someone with a pleasant voice? Or better yet a monitor with written instructions? The dogs need to be inside security to provide emotional support after that aural assault. It feels like being stabbed repeatedly in the ears

This is one of the most nondescript airports I have ever traveled through. Most airports have a bit of personality and give a hint at what can be expected once you exit the security chute into the world waiting on the other side. I don't did that to be the case here. There are not a lot options for food before or after security so if you are expecting a long day of travel you might want to make sure you get something before your drop off that rental car. The aviation viewing area is a nice middle of the road between an executive lounge and sitting at the gate. Just take the elevator located between the A and B concourses to the second floor after passing through security.

I love the accessibility of this airport. We were really stressed about traveling with our little one for the first time but checking in was easily navigated and it didn't hurt to be TSA pre checked. Seriously, I don't know what we would've done if security hadn't been so helpful with all the extra baby cargo.
