Nicely gathered collection of some art, collectables, jewelry and other items. Some is local made, some is imported and mass produced. As long as you are an observant and aware buyer, this is a good place to pick up something.

(For context, I'm Black and Latina and the clerk is possibly Latina.) I was walking through the shop with my hands half full of luggage and I noticed the clerk following me. I turned around and she didn't even pretend like she was doing something else. She just walked away. I thought maybe it was a coincidence. I saw this amazing looking, expensive dark chocolate and I was about to give into temptation to buy it, and then the lady came around behind me to stare at what I had and then ran back to the register. I put the chocolate down, said loudly "I can't I'm good conscience spend my money here." And left.

Nice selection but pricey. Some items are made in China despite the US rural motif.

The entire time I was in Albuquerque I was on the lookout for the perfect gift for my dad. I kept finding cool stuff but nothing that wowed me. Nothing that had that New Mexico vibe that my dad would actually use or display. Enter the last day in Albuquerque: I still didn't have a gift picked out. I decided to take my chances at the Albuquerque airport. This shop is one of the first shops we came to. At first, I was worried. Airport shopping. Airport gift shopping. Convenience. Touristy. I'm going to make a small house payment on a gift, right? Wrong! I came across these tiles there. It was already on my mind that I wanted something with a roadrunner on it. I knew my dad would display something with a roadrunner proudly. After all, since they aren't in Kentucky, I don't think he has ever seen one. Even in Albuquerque, I only saw two! I ended up with a tile with the shape of a roadrunner on it. Honestly, I almost wanted to keep the gift for myself. This is a great shop to find a quick and inexpensive gift for someone back home. This visit was gift buying, but on future visits, I wouldn't mind having a few items from this store myself. It was made even better by my dad hanging the tile as soon as I gave it to him!

I felt like I had my own personal shopper! The man who offered to help me listened as I described my hubby's sense of taste, and whisked me through the store for 15 minutes until I found the perfect gift for him. He even helped me pick out some spicy, sweet treats for myself, along with some gorgeous earrings. I love the variety of cultural gifts, which are high quality but not priced too high (although there are some expensive pieces to be found in store). The layout is like that of a high end boutique. Be careful with your airport luggage, especially as you turn the corners while browsing; you break it, you buy it.

A very nice gift shop for an airport. They offer a lot of southwest artwork and local curios. Good place to pick up last minute souvenirs or regional pieces your looking for to decorate the home. A little pricey but it is at the airport. They also have reginal religious art I picked up for some family members that are really into that.

I love browsing gift shops. I especially love museum gift shops. Here's a tip - the gift shop at the National Geographic Museum in Washington DC is awesome, but the gift shop at the Museum of Natural History in that town is almost as good, no, it's better, than browsing the actual exhibits. Airport gifts shops are a little different, obviously, except for Albuquerque, where the whole dang airport is like a museum. The building has unique southwestern design and there are exhibits everywhere you turn - art, statues, model airplanes. True story: I have gone to the airport for no other reason than to wander around and check it out. And that is how I ended up in the gift shop. They have absolutely everything you need from New Mexico. Pinon incense, dia de los muertos cups and masks and t shirts and figures. Native pots and crafts. Stoner hoodies. I don't know how those got in there. Shot glasses with our beautiful flag on them, ditto coffee cups and assorted everything else. And it's huge - there are three gifts shops kind of all strung together. I like to hit the coffee stand across the walkway, and then wander around. I fly a lot and I visit a lot of airport gift shops and here it is, here we go, I'm going to say it ... THIS IS THE BEST ONE EVER.

Decent selection of local wares, impressive by airport standards. Pricey, but once again, it's in an airport. Some great food items like salsa and pií±í³n coffee. Very creative card designs. Great religious souvenirs.

The gifts at this shop are beautiful. The jewelry is very high quality. I liked the Boss Brown clocks which incorporate baking pans, forks, spoons, Poker chips and screws to make whimsical clocks. They are robots, cats, dogs, bats and turtles. So cute! Too bad my hand carry is already too full. I wish there were more gift shops like this one. The jewelry was very well made, the prices were reasonable, and they had many items on sale. Yelp 365 Challenge: 45/365
