The assistant manager was great. He helped with every detail. However, the manager was not. She kept interrupting him telling him that he needs to be on the floor unstead of helping me and my wife. I thought it was rude. My rating is because of the Manger. Because the assistant manager was excellent.

We are new to contacts and prescriptions for our middle child. On 2 separate occasions we were in our local EGW to get our son refills. On both occasions, the people who helped us could have mentioned our son’s prescription coming to an end (as they no doubt could see that on their computer screens as they charged us for said refills) at which point we would scheduled an appointment: obviously to ensure his eye care needs stay up to date going forward.Instead, the prescription was on our initial paperwork that was not highlighted or even mentioned to us at the time we got the contacts.Being unaware of this, my wife went to EGW to get our son a refill. We were told his prescription was expired. Period. There was no solution. No effort to understand us being new to contacts and in-fact… we’re told it was illegal to even give him sample contacts until we could have his eyes checked again.I’d like to point out EGW initially told us our son’s prescription would be good for 2 years, but in this instance they argued it was only good for one year. I’d also like to point out that we’re talking about contact lenses with the doctor office that prescribed them to our son. We aren’t talking about firearms or illegal drugs… we’re talking about freaking contact lenses. The person my wife dealt with in the office simply stated over and over, “His prescription is expired.” And stared at her with a blank smile each time she said it.The person I spoke with over the phone would not budge insisting she would be committing a crime by doing anything other than scheduling our son for a new eye exam… because it’s illegal. Period. It’s simply… illegal. If this organization did one thing to empathize, to offer a solution, or to admit this is something that (I suspect) happens to “new contact wearers” all the time - they would have kept us as customers. Instead they insisted there was nothing they could do and kept stating the legalities of the situation. It was an extremely frustrating experience.Like most people reading this, we are a busy household of 5 just trying to get by. If I could give the store no starts based on this interaction I would.EGW lost us as a lifelong customer after stating it isn’t their responsibility to inform us of our prescription expiration date. I guess they make too much money without us and don’t need our business. It also sounds like friendly reminders are just too much work for them… even when we are standing in front of them before the fact.Fortunately for us, we ordered our contacts from 1-800-Contacts who honored the 2 year prescription. We will have the refills in a couple of days. It’s only too bad that we may have committed an illegal act and might just be responsible for destroying their company. Since what we did was illegal and all.We will find a new eye care group to invest in going forward. We will never recommend Eye Glass World. We can admit we didn’t see the expiration date when we got the paperwork. It’s just too bad EGW can’t admit they never made us aware of it - even stating it isn’t their responsibility to do so.I think it says a lot about this particular location. They know contacts. They know what people struggle with when everything is new. It’s their business. We don’t know any of that. We are learning as we go.All they had to do was work with us… we would have stuck with them. But honestly they offered nothing that made us even feel they valued keeping us with them.I didn’t know how to say all this in a shorter way. I hate drama. EGW offered us drama in this scenario… which is why I can’t take them serious going forward.

Yesterday was a great experience for me when completing my Annual Eye Exam. I had an insurance change and this was a new place for me. April the Technician, Dr. Barnett and Victoria the eyeglass specialist are amazing. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and kind! I feel I had an excellent fitting and selection assistance from Victoria! The visit was very thorough and I highly recommend!! UPDATE: the next day my wife had a similar experience.
