The waiter and bussers at this flying star are undertrained in common sense on when to approach a table or not, and how many times to frequent a table and interrupt a person. If a person is reading, or has headphones on and is obviously engaged in focusing on their business, and the food/tray is near them, no, they dont need service. If a table has a tray and dishes that are obviously in front of the customer, dont remove it on your own accord without asking. And keep earbuds out so that when a customer responds, “im not done with that, and you continue to dump what they were still using or planning to use, and the customer has to yell frantically “HEY! I AM NOT DONE WITH THAT, CAN YOU REPLACE IT NOW?” And they bring back what they touched and put it back infront of you even though you may not know whether they just touched trash and now it has remnants of trash on your now possibly contaminated edible item. Idiots work here. Not sure if you can help those who are ignorant on this level. Bussing and waiting are simple jobs when taught correctly and when intelligent people work those positions. But it takes thinking and foresight and knowledge applied. It was aggravating and irritating after the 6th time being bothered in a 2 hr time frame and accosted focus and joy of enjoying a single god damn pie.

Food was good, but overpriced compared to other local owned restaurants that feature local and natural sourced ingredients. Vegetarian options good but not as many as there used to be. I had the Chinese crunch salad with tofu which was great.my friend had the fish sandwich with fries - reported to be ok (not ordering it again), but a nice piece of fish and good fries, and the “tartar sauce”/ mayo not so great, too many pickles and the roll is grilled in some kind of fat which made it very mushy. I had one of his fries - very yummy.Unfortunately, (would haveGiven zero star if i could) our server Isabella had a major attitude and was very unpleasant. She treated us as if we were a burden to her and not worthy of her service or attention. Got us off to a bad feeling, but we still enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

I just went here for lunch for the first time, and the outdoor seating was absolutely gorgeous. The service was excellent: we ordered quickly and the food was brought in a timely manner. However, the quality of the food was inconsistent. Not pictured was a burger and sweet potato fries. I found the burger to have a stale freezer flavor, and the cauliflower wings also tasted a bit stale. The sweet potato fries were ok, a little mealy, but fine. The Athena salad was absolutely amazing, and I do highly recommend it. The deep fried feta was great, and the salad was fresh and perfectly dressed. Overall, this was a good experience and I would consider going back.

What a great find this was! First time here but would absolutely come back. We got there just as they opened on a Janaury Sunday morning and it was beautiful. It would be stunning in the Spring and Summer! The Southwest Bennie was amazing!!

Customer service seriously lacks rude, immature workers. The food was horrible. I ordered the Chinese crunch salad, which had no dressing and was missing toppings. I won’t be returning!

I love the Flying Star menu, and their other locations are consistently good. Post-COVID, the quality of the food and service at the Rio Grande location has consistently declined. The cashiers keep turning over, and they are friendly, but not good problem solvers. Finally, this location changed the spiciness of a dish that's been a menu standard in all locations. It was so hot, it was inedible. They could use some consistent oversight.

Ordered the chopped cob salad, and the chicken was nasty. It was literally strung together and I couldn't eat any of it. Very disappointing. My friend ordered the same thing and it was just as nasty. She ate even less of it. I was starving and did not have the same luxury.

The lady manager in the morning has a the worst customer service. Rude, unhelpfull and unpleascent to talk to. I should be enjoying my salad and cheesecake and instado the only thing I remember is the manager's bad actitudes.60 dollars Lunch for 2 and all we got was a bad taste.Not coming back there.

I’m am shocked at all of the positive reviews. This places is extremely underwhelming and subpar. I ordered a vanilla latte and a buddah bowl. The vanilla latte was AWFUL. Truly one of the worst vanilla lattes I have ever had and I love coffee. It was barely lukewarm and served in a glass, not a coffee mug. It was also extremely milky and had a hint of espresso. The buddah bowl was okay. It was also lukewarm and bland. Half of the vegetables were cooked, the other half were raw. The service was on the slower side but the staff was friendly. That is really the only thing this place has going for it. I will not be returning and I would not recommend.

We stopped on a Monday for an early lunch and were pleased to see plenty of seating and no line, which never seems to happen at a Flying Star. Disappointingly, the dessert case was stripped almost bare, with only two cakes available and none of the delectable pastries for which Flying Star is known. The staff was friendly and efficient and we were quickly at our table. I had the egg salad with a cup of fruit and my companion had the grilled cheese with coleslaw. Both sandwiches tasted good. The baguette on which the egg salad was served was very tasty however the egg salad was not my favorite and I can't pinpoint the underlying taste that I didn't care for. Both my friend and I are very healthy eaters, and maybe the decadence of such heavy sandwiches was too much for us, but we both had uncomfortable stomachs for hours after lunch .. hours.
