The vehicle I rented smelled badly of pot later on that day it rained. The windshield wipers were awful.
I expect a clean vehicle , and wipers should be replaced if needed . The car also announced that an oil change was required. The pot smell was awful

Typically I have used Alamo or National as Hertz prices tended to be higher. This time the price was about the same so thought I would go with Herrz. Flawless experience. I chose the skip the line option. I was allowed to choose any vehicle in a row of them. I chose one with 9900 miles in perfect condition.
At the exit booth leaving the lot, Jay was the person who checked the drivers license etc. He is amazingly nice, much more so than expected.
The vehicle worked great no problems. Drop off was easy and non eventful. Overall quite impressed with our experience.

We rented a Kia Niro vehicle and after a couple days, the battery went dead and the car locked up and we weren’t able to use it. We contacted the Hertz road service, but they kept insisting it was an electric car, but in fact, it was a hybrid with a battery and gas. We finally went online to see if we could figure out how to get it to work again and realized there were a lot of complaints about this particular car. We did follow one person’s suggestion and were able to get the car to start again. However, we then had to drive 1 1/2 hours to the Santa Fe airport to pick up another car because we couldn’t depend on this one to work. This rental cost over $1250 for seven days so I will be contacting hertz to see what type of refund I can get.

Gracie was extremely helpful! I had accidentally made my reservation at the nearby Clark Carr location which was closed at the time but she quickly moved my reservation over and saved me from being stranded.

The lady that helped us when we picked up the vehicle and dropped. The vehicle off was rude. When we went to pick up the vehicle, the lady told us that the vehicle that was an option for us to rent for the area that we went to which was high elevation was not a suited vehicle because of high elevation it didn’t get around very well. Going up in the mountains and things like that And so we had to upgrade because the car didn’t fit for our needs. And then we had to pay an additional $461 when we picked up the car after we had already paid almost $400 for the rental because there was a balloon festival that was going to start on the Saturday after we actually left the area And told us that we didn’t have an option of not doing the extra insurance because of the balloon festival and the prices were inflated because of the balloon festival and we weren’t even going to be there during the balloon festival. The overall experience was not a good one. Not very many people have an extra $461 in their budget to pay extra for a car that they didn’t expect to pay for.

Hertz guy when i picked up my car was a real pro -- very likable and answered all my questions. Gave me down-to-earth insights on stuff I wouldn't expect him too, and didn't give me the hard sell on insurance. Fun guy, we had some laughs, and he did a great job.
