I love this historic hotel. It has an abundance of public spaces, on the first floor and the mezzanine, from a library to fun seating areas and just wonderful to wander around. I have a weakness for historic hotels and stay in them when I can, but usually it's just the lobby and public spaces that show their rich history, from the elevators to the doors to the hallways, history is preserved!

This hotel was frayed at the edges with a hodgepodge decor in the room. It felt worn with few amenities for the cost.

Horrible communication and no service from this Hilton location. We arrived to find all the doors closed with signs at the entrance with blacked out doors and windows. No Hotel attendants at Valet or any where outside. We booked the hotel online a few days before. After a few minutes a "Film Crew Member" greeted us and escorted us through a filming of a wedding scene for the upcoming HBO series Duster. Try getting yourself and a luggage dolly down a narrow walkway past a 50+ extras on one side and the craft services table! We check in and no apologies for not being told in advance about the inconvenience of not being able to use the amenities or the elevators going down every 10 minutes. We also have to be escorted and shushed. Not so fun for hotel guests. No discount or apologies either because as the manager put it they don't have to tell you squat!!

Went for a real estate Christmas event. The DJ was not good but everything else was. They had a taco bar and regular drink bar. Deserts were little cheesecakes. Really nice venue.

I could not hate this hotel more. On a recent visit to Albuquerque, we reserved a room at Hotel Andaluz. From the moment we stepped in the door, I knew we made a mistake. The lobby has an overpowering smell of a sweet incense-like scent. It is so strong that it's nausea-inducing and it's inescapable in all common areas. What are they attempting to cover up? The most egregious issue though, was the absolutely dismal customer service from reception and also the on-site bar's staff. The lady at reception did not greet us when we walked in, but merely glanced at us until I politely asked if we could check in a little early. (It was 1:00 PM.) She rudely responded that it would be a $24 charge. I've never heard of such a thing! She wouldn't even remove it when we provided our Hilton Honors Diamond status info. She continued with her poor attitude, acting as if we were bothering her. The room thankfully smelled less offensive than the lobby but was shabby, severely outdated and needed a deep cleaning. This place is listed on the historic register but I feel, with a few modern updates, it would be better-suited to house the multitude of homeless people conveniently located just outside the hotel in all directions. (Read: not a great, safe location either) As for the bar staff, they ignored my husband, waiting patiently for over 10 minutes, despite chatting with each other. We eventually gave up and left. I hate this place. It is not fitting of the Curio standards, the staff are atrocious, it smells noxious, it's in a bad area and lastly, they don't even provide complimentary coffee like literally every other hotel on the planet.

Christmas dinner was a nightmare, but was described to be a three-course delicacy. Was without kids for the first time in 23 years, and made a reservation just for me to have a lovely Christmas dinner that I didn't have to cook. At $100 a person, the first red flag for me was that the underside of the salad was wilted but covered with fresh arugula to hide it. Soup came out before I could finish the salad. Small portion of soup served over a large flat bowel and went cold very fast. Mushroom veggie main course looked like a small pile of mess on a large plate. I let my server know I didn't think I could eat it. She insisted I speak with a chef. After expressing to her that I didn't want to and I didn't want a main course. She ignored me and had them remake it. It was made with the same overcooked mushrooms they put on the last plate, but this time, there was a circle of red chile sauce at the bottom. I could not cut nor chew the mushrooms and began to get a stomach ache. I did not want to stick around for the dessert and asked for my bill. Asked my server if their was room at the bar for me, and was informed I could be squeezed into a sofa in the corner of the bar. I couldn't take any more and left. Started tearing up as I left the Hotel Andeluz from such magnanimous disappointment. Will make it a point to never do that again and will recommend others do the same.

This is a pair of emails sent to "
[email protected]" about our stay in October. I was astonished that I did not receive a reply. I left both an email and phone number. "I would like to register a complaint about our recent stay at your hotel. We were guests on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14. I was offered a choice of third or eighth floor when checking in. Lower floors are generally safer, so I took room 310. We enjoyed the jazz band in the lobby when returning from dinner, but were dismayed to find that a band had been engaged to play starting at 9:00 in the Casbah bar below our room. There is apparently little to block the noise in the mezzanine level as we could hear every song well-enough to identify the tune. The single pair of foam earplugs were of little use to me and obviously no use to my partner. Even with earplugs, the bass drum and bass guitar were quite audible. I called the front desk to see if we could switch rooms but was told the hotel was fully-booked and there was nothing that could be done. The main reason for being as a hotel is to provide a comfortable bed where one can get a decent night's sleep. Everything else is a luxury item. At this your hotel failed miserably. Thankfully, there was no live music on Saturday night." Twelve days later: "I rechecked my inbox, trash and junk mail but did not see a reply to my email. I suppose a copy of this correspondence will suffice for a review on Trip Advisor, Yelp, Google, et al."

The decor and lighting was dark. The bathrooms were dark. They were decorated with dark surfaces and dimly lighted. The furniture in the room was dirty. The design of the room was dysfunctional. I wouldn't stay there again for half the price.

Mixed experience. We had to move hotels to the Andaluz due to an issue with our original venue. Upon making the switch, I was encouraged by what appeared to be an "upgrade" from where we were originally staying. I was also optimistic that they accepted pets as we were accompanied by our dog (albeit it far more expensive than most hotels at $75 per pet). Overall, it's a lovely hotel in a somewhat challenging area (tons of homeless, busy streets, no real area to take your pet). I found the reception staff and valet on check-in to be awesome but other staff members thereafter were relatively "cool". Also, maybe it's just the clientele of a "boutique" hotel, but it just gave a less-than-friendly vibe. There was live music at the hotel that was clearly noticeable in our room til' late, our dog barked one time (yes, one time) in our room and a guest in the adjacent room pounded on our shared wall, and the few times we walked our dog, the staff and guests seemed irritated that we even had a pet. Listen, it's really not a venue for pets. They should just eliminate it from their offering. Also, I did find some charges on my credit card that did not align with the fees quoted at the hotel check-in. Turns out they add tax to the pet fee and valet, all throwing my charge totals off. I've never had a pet fee taxed before and when I called to inquire, the front desk representative (younger female from what I could tell) seemed fairly irritated with my inquiry; thus confirming my "vibe" issue. Maybe it's just me, but seems like the Andaluz is for people who drive Range Rovers, eat tapas for dinner paired with a skinny beverage, carry their toy dog in one cute shoulder bags, and look to CNN for reliable news coverage.

The vibe was excellent, can’t say enough good things about all of the staff from valet to room service and everything in between. Super helpful, friendly, and prompt. If you want a good view don’t stay here, but if you just want to be high up in the city it’ll do. It’s an older hotel so the soundproofing is mid, but if you’re used to sleeping in hotels in the city it’s a pretty average sound experience. In-room amenities are sparse, and the shower was kind of disappointing with the small showerhead and weird design choice of deleting the shower door which floods water into the bathroom and under the door as you shower. The King bed is outstanding and sleeps 3 comfortably, furniture is comfortable and tasteful. Don’t order the french toast though, I would give it two stars overall for being edible, but why a baguette? You’re taking the french part of french toast too literally and have made a terrible mistake, arguably one of the worst breads for french toast, and then you put a weird dry breading on it. Please stop. Try challah bread if you don’t actually want to punish your customers for ordering french toast in the morning. The price point isn’t outrageous, but it does imply a somewhat higher level of quality that just isn’t there.

We spent 2 nights here, this is a great boutique hotel in the heart of Albuquerque! Extremely friendly staff, who genuinely cared about how your day was going and were very helpful if you needed recommendations. The boutique hotel is in the heart of downtown next to the convention center. The rooms were spacious, and most of all the beds were awesome!!!

The city is very pretty, upscale, and fun to explore once you get out of downtown's circus-show and about 0.5 mi west of the location. The hotel itself certainly has flair.

Location and service was awesome. Sadly the room doors aren’t sealed well so I could hear the elevator ding and people in the halls. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay!Food & drinks: Great food options near by!

The Hilton name but missing some of the service and amenities. If you come to expect certain services like a lounge for gold membership or gym then stick to something else. If you do want great ambience in the heart of downtown ABQ, this is the place.
