My employer booked my interstate moving with them paying really premium amount. However, they proved to be highly unprofessional. They booked my appointment for 8.30 am - 10.30 am but didnt show up until 2.30 pm. Highly unprofessional. I booked my cleaning services as per original morning appointment and had to cancel incurring loss. Also, they disrupted my travel plan for that day. Please do not book them even if they do it for free. Highly unprofessional.

Jeremy Long is an excellent driver with a good sense of humor! He drove into my storage facility with no problems at all. He was very professional, smooth and efficient. It was a pleasure working with someone so skilled and personable. Johnson Storage and Moving is lucky to have him. Highly recommend Jeremy as your driver!

Well done United Van Lines. The attention to detail, beginning with manager Thomas Reichert was fantastic. Every step of the process was explained to our satisfaction. The driver and crew were hardworking and took special care to accomodate fragile items.
Recommend highly Johnson Storage for any Albuquerque moves.

Johnson Storage and Moving is a wonderful company to work with moving us from New Mexico to Nebraska. Their price was more than fair and every person that we came in contact with was professional and very kind.

This was the third time using United (all cross country moves) and this has to be THE WORST. It gets better (meaning worse) because it is still ongoing experience. They broke at least half of my furniture. The claims process took forever to decide on what to give me for what they broke and didn’t even contact me about it for a few weeks. I had to reach out because of the silence coming from them. I still haven’t received the check and still waiting to see if they’ll cover the removal of the broken furniture because it’ll cost me at least a few hundred dollars to do so where they should do everything in their power to fix their mistakes. I’m still afraid that the rest of my furniture will crumble after they send the check. I was told to get in contact after March 28th if I haven’t received it which is 10 weeks after initial payment and 8 weeks after move-in. They keep on pushing back the payout date too, which is highly unprofessional. If I did the same, I know they’d be all over my case and demand that I also help reimburse them too so I feel like there is a lot of double standards that I’m experiencing here.
The initial customer service was great, but the recurring theme is that it went down hill fast with a lot of excuses and no accountability. I expected a lot more having no prior negative experiences with United. I’m just thankful I didn’t give them more things to break and packed my car with the belongings I didn’t want to hand over or the things I didn’t trust them with (like a $6000 road bike). They won’t pay for the disposal of the furniture that they broke either.
They also cost me my security deposit ($1600) too because the driver hit one of the apartment complex’s light poles.
Bottom line: don’t use them. They won’t treat your belongings well. If I could take off more stars, I would. If possible, I’ll add more when I can.

This review is for the Albuequerque office of Johnson Storage and Moving (JSM). I had the WORST, most STRESSFUL experience ever with this office. Completely incompetent.
We were moving out-of-state and my husband's new place of employment was paying, so we did not have a choice of moving companies. I contacted the Albuquerque office of JSM at the beginning of the month and did a live "video" walk-through of my house with them to determine how much stuff needed to be moved (which would determine the number of days/people JSM would need to pack, the number of days/people JSM would need to load, and the size of the truck). At the time of that live walk-through, I was told that they'd need 1 day to pack and 1 day to load. They scheduled me for 25th & 26th of September (Monday and Tuesday). Then I didn't hear from them again.
So, on the Monday before the scheduled packing day (the 18th), I contacted JSM. I was told the following.
1) They had determined early on that they needed 2 days to pack and 2 days to load, so packing was scheduled fro Th and Fri, the 21st and 22nd, and loading would be on the 25th and 26th. They had never informed me of this. I was told that they had put the dates on the procurement papers they sent to Hubby's new employer and assumed they would tell us.
WHAT??? Those papers went to the finance department to approve the cost/payment. I was not in contact with them. When I did talk to someone in the finance department, they told me that they never look at the service dates for approving payments, only when paying the invoices.
JSM should have contacted me so that my husband and I could have planned our move better. We had planned to do some final sorting, tossing-out, and donating the weekend before the original dates (23rd-24th). We could have planned differently and done it the weekend before. Now we where going to take a bunch of stuff we don't use/need to our new home. Stressful!
2)They hadn't received approval from Hubby's new place of employment until that day (the day I was calling, the 18th) so they hadn't scheduled any packers, loaders, or a driver yet and because of that, they might need to postpone our packing and loading dates.
No, no, no! We couldn't extend the dates b/c we were closing on that Thursday (the 28th) and had professional cleaners coming on Wed (the 27th). We had to be out of the house on the 28th, not loading the truck. MAJOR STRESS.
If JSM had called me and told me a week earlier that they hadn't received the confirmation needed to procure loaders, packers, and a driver yet, I would have contacted the person I was working with at my husband's new place of employment and she would have figured out what the problem was and gotten it done. In fact, when I mentioned the delay to her, she told me that exact same thing. She later called to tell me that our approval had somehow slipped through the cracks, but a simple question from her about its progress would have gotten it done in ample time.
I do not recommend the ALBUQUERQUE office of Johnson Storage and Moving at all. They are completely incompetent and unprofessional.
I DO recommend the SANTA FE office. We lived in N NM, so it turned out that the Santa Fe office would handle my move. I wish I would have known this - I would have dealt with them from the start. They were able to find loaders with 2 days notice and a driver/loaders as well.

Johnson Storage & Moving in Albuquerque (agent for United Van Lines) picked up my household goods shipment from my apartment this morning and did a very poor job. I have moved with United Van Lines before, and it was not close to the level of service they normally provide. I should have rented a Uhaul and hired laborers off Craigslist. My biggest complaint was I paid for my mattresses and box springs to be packed. The attached pictures are how they were placed on the truck.

They set up a "virtual" visit to estimate moving costs but no one ever contacted me. And they did not return my calls about the failed appointment. I'll use one of their competitors.

Ralph Aragon, from the very beginning, was personable, professional and extremely helpful. The crew that packed us out was amazing! Lorrie Alvarado kept us in the loop as the driver moved across the country in some dicey winter weather. Both Lorrie and Ralph kept in contact through the entire process - pick up to delivery. Cory Begay, our driver, and his mate, Zack, delivered our household goods on a 5F morning in northern Michigan on time and very quickly, too!The entire team of folks who worked on our move are excellent!

Early days yet, but opening stages are very promising. Agent Jason Hilton, in particular, gives us confidence; he is responsive, patient, competent, and professional. We look forward to moving through this challenging process with Johnson.

From the moment Tom Reichert came to our home in Gallup (a 2-hour drive from Albuquerque), we knew we were in good hands! Tom was considerate, informed, and professional, all along the way.Ours was a strange situation, as we scheduled our move, then rescheduled at least three times, over a 3-month period, due to our buyer. Tom couldn't have been more cooperative and supportive, despite our multiple changes. Each time we texted or called him, he responded almost immediately, with patience, kindness, and calm assurance! When we finally got to packing/moving days, our packer stunned us with his speed and professionalism. It was a pleasure to observe him. He was joined on day 2 or 3 by another pro, who assisted in loading the van, then took off with our belongings. We had no qualms whatsoever! Our things were then in storage at Johnson for over 4 months, as we were traveling to determine where to retire. Finally, we received our shipment in Virginia, with another great truck driver and two strong, efficient men, to unload and carry it all upstairs to our new apartment.Honestly, we can't say enough good things about Johnson. The team effort was outstanding, and Tom Reichert was absolutely the best!

Timely and attentive, but efforts of packing department was very disappointing. Apparently they had some caring packers but one who doesn’t appreciate our property. Packing art work without packing materials, packing tables without protection.

Johnson was able to come through for me quickly and the online estimate made it very easy and accurate. The packers/movers were careful and professional. The challenge of moving in a pandemic was real, including a period of storage before the final move out of state, but handled well. Some challenges in reaching the needed folks at the facility but overall a very good job done by all. Special kudos to Tom and Lorrie.
